Wednesday...cold....
A very good Wednesday morning to you all, just getting my early morning coffee, by heck isnt it a little cold today, hubby will have to scrape the screen of this morning, and I shall need my hat and my warm boots for my hike today. How are you all, I do hope things are well with you, have a good day and keep warm, hugs to you all Janet xxx
Re: Wednesday...cold....
Good morning Janet,
And all who follow, I hope you are all well and not too cold
Your an early bird today, it's freezing cold here also.
Lou I hope Hubbies finger it on the mend, there most be something in the air as my son cut his finger when he broke a dish and ended up in A&E because it wouldn't stop bleeding, it turned out he had cut a small artery but because he had cut a piece out the could not stitch it together, so they had to put a pressure bandage on it for a few hours which really hurts, he is ok now and it should mend ok.
Alan is taking me down to mum's for the day and will pick me up on his way home to nite, mums back is really bad and she is waiting to go in hospital for an operation to fix things, so at the moment is can not get around much.
Alan said its time to go so I'll speak to you all later, take care, keep warm and have a good day.
xx

Re: Wednesday...cold....
WoW 2 early birds!!!
Morning to you all, bit cold out today! Going to sort my hat out to go back up to nursery. My little ears were frozen when I got back.
Not much planned for today, think I am starting with a cold, at the moment it seems to be a head cold, so have taken a couple of tablets in the hope it eases it a bit.
Have a good day whatever you are doing and be careful!! See you later xx

Yes it is quiet on here this morning - couldn't resist another peek as I am going from room to room
Re: Wednesday...cold....
Morning ladies - just a quick visit. Hopefully done my last early morning taxi service, don't think too much of having to scrape the car at 6.30! Gor U3A reading club this afternoon and then tne card group I go to this evening. We're doing a secret santa so need to wrap pressie soon. Trouble is I'm going to be late getting there if Michael is trying his car at 7.15. I'll have to wait and see if he is OK driving as if not I'll have to take him home.
Re: Wednesday...cold....
Morning all, freezing cold here too. Will need to make something warm and comforting for tea later (I'm at work now - having a short break before going back in an unheated church to load the video projector service plans for the weekend)
Hope you don't get too cold on your hike Janet(?) and the sun makes an appearance.
Hope all the fingers are getting better - The chef I was working with last night had a little accident with a mandolin while cutting up carrots! Luckily his finger tips are still in one piece..........just

Re: Wednesday...cold....
Ya not denying it Janet
Got into work this mornin, thought
it was odd as boss was there, we
had a break at the shop, they didnt
get much just a few pouches of
tobacco, they walked straight past
the tills didnt even try and open them.
Not that they are left with much in anyhoo.
Hope everyone is keeping warm, was freezing
in the shop as they smashed the door to get in
and we couldnt get it fixed till the Irish CSI arrived
(they certainly aint anything like the CSI in Miami
or New York )

Re: Wednesday...cold....
Bit of a shock though isn't it Jayne. We had a young lad come in the back door of our shop one summer when it was very hot and we opened it for a through draught. He was seen coming out of the ladies loo and when asked what he was doing, he said he was looking for someone. She managed to get between him and the back door as he was heading for the shop and our driver was near the door into the shop so she shouted to him. He then turned as she is only small and forced his way past her but she put all her strength into keeping the door closed. A lovely set of fingerprints left on the door. Someone in another shop said he had been in there too and they knew him so we gave the name to the police, they took fingerprints, then no charge as there "wasn't enough evidence". He had stolen my friends purse out of her bag

Re: Wednesday...cold....
Afternoon or is it officially evening now, I know it is dark outside Been blooming freezing here all day, had to nip and see the nurse today for results of my 3 monthly blood test thingy and it's 6.3 this time was 6.8 last time so it's coming down and she was very pleased, cholesterol was 5.3 and she was more than happy with that to, but the doctor had put a note on my records about stati or something like some thing about cholesterol tablets put I am sure I have heard some bad press about them so will have a word with him when and if I ever see him again but don't see the point of going on tablets if my results show I don't need them just a waste of energy on my poor brain remembering to take them
Re: Wednesday...cold....
Evening all. It's been freezing cold here today. I hope all poorly fingers are better soon.
I'm not going anywhere tonight as the roads around here are like glass. Perhaps I can finally get some cards made.
Have a good evening whatever you are doing

Re: Wednesday...cold....
Probably statins Jan. They are supposed to be beneficial to you, besides reducing your cholestrol, if I remember what was in the press recently. I think it prevented heart attacks but can't be sure.
Re: Wednesday...cold....
That's the things Jacky thanks, but I am sure they have had a bit of bad press but can't remember why Lol
Re: Wednesday...cold....
Hi Jan,
I take Simvastatin for my cholesterol.... have taken it ever since I had the diabetes diagnosed... I haven't had any side effects hun, just look into it thoroughly first. Also take Metformin for diabetes, BP tablets, aspirin, Omega 3 capsules (great for your nails ladies) thyroid replacement tablets, painkillers!!! God I am like a pharmacy!!! If you hear a rattle it's me!!! Hopelessly lost cause at age 36, how sad
Well done on your HBA1C by the way, that a good result
My last HBA1C was 6.2 and my cholesterol was 3.4 and I was so excited to be told that I had lost another 4 kgs and was now officially JUST OVERWEIGHT and NOT OBESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Wednesday...cold....
So my HBA1C was a good result then, didn't have anyone to compare with but have now thanks Lou Looks like cholesterol could be better then but it has gone down from 3 months ago so it is at least going in the right direction
Re: Wednesday...cold....
Most of the time the clinics are happy as long as it is below 7 Jan.... if it is in the top range for a while they may consider changing any medication... but you usually don't get too much grief if it is in the lower half of the 6's
I have been diagnosed for 1 and a 1/2 yrs now and have always been a goody two shoes (as my dad calls me but that's only coz he has it too and doesn't behave)

Re: Wednesday...cold....
I don't always behave, have had the odd few chocolate buttons and a few liquorice alsorts
Re: Wednesday...cold....
Well even my diabetic nurse says you have to treat yourself sometimes hun, just the best time to have something sweet is when you have eaten something high in fibre like brown rice or wholewheat pasta as the fibre slows down the absorption of the sugar.
Last time I went for my appointment she had a Crunchie sitting on her desk..... she wondered why I couldn't stop giggling! Luckily I have never been a big choccy fan so wasn't worried! I do miss a nice hot pudding and some 'proper' custard though on occasion!

Re: Wednesday...cold....
I went to see a dietician and she said to me a lot of puddings if you make them yourself you can eat them, just add half the sugar because afterall it's only a sweetener doesn't affect the recipe at all, not that I have made any puddings yet but did try making a cake using Splenda ack ack ack
