Can't believe our postal system. Martin ordered a little radio control engine from ebay yesterday morning and it arrived this morning before we got up Shocked I think we may be lucky that we have a postman living nearby as we saw him putting our post through the letterbox yesterday. Very Happy

Ours around this way seems to be so hit and miss, sometimes it can take a day and then other letters seem to take for blooming ever Mad

Lucky you - here we have no post, no milk delivery, no dustbin collection, no gritting. There's no way my son can get out of his very steep drive in Horsham to pick us up so we've now booked a car in the hope of getting to Heathrow but with more snow on the way I'm beginning to panic. We will still probably have to walk down 2 roads with all our luggage to get to a passable one.

We finally ended up with 14" of snow (35cm)

Thanks Jacky -I love the snow normally but I'm very stressed at the moment as you can inagine.
I need to keep busy which is why there have been so many cards and ATCs recently. (I've added another challenge one today)

I've even shovelled a path in front of the house - boy that was hard work!
I got some grit and salt from a bin nearby and scattered it on our piece of road.(unfortunately some of the local louts seem to think its fun to urinate in the container on the way back from the pub so it smells aweful -at least it works well)
Its made a bit of a difference to the drive and made me feel better anyway.

Ian has managed to take his wife to the station so she is at work but now he is worrying that he wont be able to go and fetch her tonight and it's too far to walk Neutral I have never seen it snowing so hard with big flakes before and the sky looks full of it Shocked

We've just had that Jacky and now it's sunny!! If you look at the met office forecast it says light snow but then if you click on the warning area on map it says heavy snow all day! No consistency! We've not had any post at all for two days! I know our post lady lives in Yateley and if she hasn't got in they probably aren't going to cover her round!

It's bright sunny and the road outside is now slushy. Martin has ventured out down to Sallys house to take her a convector heater and she has logs too to make a fire. She has given up with the heating as it's not her problem. The plumber just said it is nothing they have done to cause it so she will need to put in another insurance claim to start again. Apparently she is insured against the heating breaking down Rolling Eyes Sally can't do that as its not her insurance so she has given up and will just use the electric - she doesn't pay for it Neutral She has tried her best. Just watching a squirrel hopping its way across the snowy field - he looked so sweet Laughing Laughing Just stay away from my bird feeders Neutral

Post  craftymumof3 Tue Feb 03, 2009 9:40 pm

Evening all I've finally managed to get on the computer as the kids have been on all day because they have not been at school. We didn't get the snow we were promised last night but neither did my parents (they got theirs this afternoon) so hopefully we will get more tonight.

Our postal service here is terrible. I posted some ATCs off to people back in October and they arrived last week. I've heard of snail mail but that is ridiculous Evil or Very Mad

I've made a few cards today so I will try and upload them later.

Have a good evening whatever you are doing Smile
