Friends
There seem to be several friends on the forum, the kind that don't just chat online, but actually know each other. If that's so, were you friends who joined the same forum, or have the friendships been formed through the forum? It would be lovely to think so. (Hmm, like the look of the forum, but the new colour font isn't as easy to see. No doubt we'll get used to it.)

Re: Friends
Morning Christine, I didnt know anyone when I joined the forum except Jenny from another forum just a little, but I have found everyone on here friendly, and so easy to get on with, that it is easy to make some wonderful friendship, and of course if you live an an area near it means you can meet, Jan and Di are smashing ladies and I do enjoy their company and they make me laugh when I am with them and always make me feel very welcome lv Janetxx
Re: Friends
Hi Christine,
I was told about this fab forum by Jan and Jayne as I had a nasty experience over on another forum.... which they know about!! Especially as the little darlings waded in and stuck up for me (((((((((Jan & Jayne)))))))))
Since coming over here a few of my other disillusioned forum friends have debunked with me!!! Shell is my bestest bud, she stays over on holidays and brings her family too which is brilliant, I speak to her on the phone at least twice a day too... we have a fair bit in common as we both have Rheumatoid Arthritis so when one is down the other can pick us straight back up again.
I also know Craftycuttlebug (Sylvia) Crafty Pat (Pat has been to my house for a crafting session) Jen M, Hammersue
Shell, Pat and Sylvia joined after they knew where I'd gone as I encouraged them to join!!
They are not big chatters...but are lovely friends so I was chuffed that they joined here too x
Thats it really!

Re: Friends
Jayne is my twin sister and Di my bestest mate I didn't know anyone personally on here but have now met up with a few of the ladies. Janet lives not to far away and is a lovely lady and her husband Dick and my partner Mike have a common interest in trains and they seem to get on really well also
I knew Lou and some of the newer members from another forum but not as yet met them personally but Lou has invited us down for a roast one Sunday so will be making the trip to Bognor one day
Met Jacky, Celie and Wendy; Anne's Moovision co-presenter a few weeks ago at the Make It show and hope one day to meet them all again
Christine I will see what I can do about the font colour, I might be able to darken it a bit to make it easier to read

Re: Friends
I use to work with Jan and have know her for several years, shes my best buddie and I love her to bits and Jayne are the only two that I knew. Jan told me about the forum so here I am, I've only been on here a while but have chatted to some really lovely people, I love seeing all the different things that have been made as it inspires me to try different things out of my comfort zone. The hints and techniques are great and if you don't know or can't find it just ask as someone on here will definately know.
I've met up with Janet who's another lovely lady as she lives in Kent also. Would love to meet up with some more we are quite spread around the country and its not always easy with work commitments.
Lou I didn't realise you lived in Bognor I have been going there most years since I was small for a little holiday. Jakey loves the big tent there but we do venture away from it now and again as I like Chichester. You'll have to tell me if there are any good crafty shops in the area

Re: Friends
Awwww Jan, you nearly made my eyes leak xxxxxx
Di, there is really only one decent craft shop in Bognor.... and as it has the monopoly it is quite expensive...it is called Squires and is opposite the library near Hotham Park. There are a few shops in town that have a few crafty bits, Bubbles (next to Maccie D's) and Sussex Stationers/Bredons Bookshop in the main shopping road (London Rd)
Well next time you are down this way Di, let me know and we will have to arrange a meet up, maybe a sunday roast at mine!!!

Re: Friends
We should try and arrange a big meet over a weekend sometime, would take a bit of organising but as many of us as possible to be there. Could arrange a few classes or something as well.
Re: Friends
Sounds lovely Lou thank you
That would be a good idea Jan there are loads of B&B around that area, Lou at this rate your going to need a bigger joint of meat

We are going to be up in the area mid June if anyone is thinking of setting up a Crafty Cow BBQ or something he he It's when we are hoping to impose on Lou's generosity too, and by the way hun we are coming to see you not Bognor - Bognor just doesn't compare with meeting up with a mate he he
I've made my friendships on this forum online and have met a few people, so far and hope to meet even more in the coming year or so I have no problems whatsoever with being a cyber friend first he he

Just thought I'd clarify, it wasn't me at the Crafty Cow, perhaps Christine1. I haven't made it there yet, we were within a 30 minute drive once, but I couldn't persuade everyone else to go! I have it to look forward to.

Re: Friends
As Lou has already mentioned I met her on another forum, when I put out a thread about other crafters on the South Coast. She is a lovely welcoming lady and we had a great day.
ALTHOUGH, I have to say that we didn't eat all day! too much crafting and too much gassing!!
I do think she is the exception with regard to going that extra mile to welcome people into her home to share her and her families hospitality, which is why it was so sad when due to some bad experiences she was forced to leave the other forum, but that as they say is history and I was more than happy to find her and shellshearer and some of the others having fun nowadays on this one. As Lou says I don't often post, mainly as I am at work all day and by the time I get on the PC at night, catching up on what has been said takes my time.
I also hope to meet up with in the not too distant future Christine1, who lives in the same town as me.
I also now have now regular contact with another lady who I met through another forum and turns out to live 3 roads from me so the forum is a great place to make good friends with like minded interests. I am threatening to take her along to Lou's as well but we want written confirmation of food first LOL!
