Aarrrggghhh DOCTORS

I tried all morning to get Kayleigh an appointment because she is no better but they had all gone, even the telephone consultations were all taken. I was asked to phone back after 2pm. So at 2.30pm I get on the phone to be greeted with a message saying the surgery isn't open but will be at 2pm (well it's gone 2pm so I'm a bit annoyed). I went off to get the other 2 from school and when I got home I tried again. This time the message has changed and it now says the surgery is closed on Wednesday afternoons and if you need help to phone NHS Direct or go to the local walk-in centre which is about 10 miles away.

Looks like I will be on the phone all tomorrow morning trying to get an appointment now

Never heard of a doctors surgery being closed for half a day I know ours closes at the weekend when they used to be open but you can still phone and get an appointment for the clinic in Frimley Green. Why didn't they tell you that this morning. I would be soooo mad it's particularly bad when it's your child too Hope you have more luck in the morning Frances

Thanks. I was really cross seeing as this morning when I phoned they said the only thing I could do was try this afternoon. I'm just glad it's not a real emergency. I'll just keep dosing her up with paracetamol and Ibuprofen for now.

Awww Frances, thats just flippin ridiculous hun. You must be so angry... think I'd take myself and Kayleigh down there and stage a sit in!!

I think I would take her to the A & E at hospital as she has bumped her head and make a fuss there

I do hope Kayleigh will soon be on the mend, it is such a worry when the children are young Janetxx

It's especially worrying for her because she is usually so energetic and bouncy from the time she gets up until I force her to bed. SHe has been out in the garden tonight and came in after about 15 mins saying she was feeling dizzy. If I manage to get her an appointment tomorrow and all they say is it's still a virus I will be cross

So would I be, there is no one like her mum to know there is something wrong, and I do wish they would take more notice of us mums fingers crossed for you both tommorow

Well I couldn't get a morning or afternoon appointment today so I'm taking her to the walk in centre tomorrow. She has been a bit better today but she is still very dizzy

That is really shocking Frances - and so worrying if you have a real problem and can't get to the walk in one. Hope she gets it sorted out tomorrow

Well that's a start at least Frances, at least you maybe able to make an appointment through the dr if they feel it is necessary, very poor show though

Well the Doctor phoned and wanted to see her straight away. Her throat and glands are still up but at least she doesn't have an ear infection although he said the glands being swollen could affect the balance within the ear and that is what's making her dizzy.

He has put her on a course of penicillin as he said she should be better by now

I told him abouth all the trouble we'd had earlier in the week and he's going to look into it and get back to me

Oh I am so glad Frances lets hope she will be on the mend now bless her, and I hope the Doctor gives them a good stir up

Glad she is getting some treatment at last....... I think its abismal the way you have both been treated x
