Malteser Tray Bake
Got this off another forum but am reliably informed by the poster that it is scrumptious!!!
Malteser Tray Bake
100g (4oz) Margarine
3 Tablespoons Golden Syrup
150g (5oz) Milk Chocolate
225g (8oz) Digestive Biscuits (just roughly crushed, should still be lumpy)
225g (8oz) Maltesers (put them in a plastic bag and gently whack with rolling pin to split them,....or chop em if you can)
325g (12oz) Milk Chocolate (melted for the topping)
Melt the first three ingredients in a pan.
Add the biscuits and maltesers and mix well.
Spread over a swiss roll tin. (9"" x 13" approx)
Pour the melted chocolate over the top and spread evenly.
Put in the fridge to set.
Makes 24 slices and costs approx £3.50
Tips.
Don't crush the biscuits too finely they should still be lumpy.
Maltesers are cut in half so they can be seen when the slice is cut.
Some will break, it doesn't matter.
Cut into slices before it's completely set. It'll be easier.
Naughty but nice Have a go and let me know what you think.
