Re: Sept Card Swap Gallery & Thanks
I am officially a ' Tropical Babe ' can't stand cold weather , hate the dark nights I have sunlight lamps other wise I get really bad depression and its awful thats why we go away in feb as I have something to look forward to and escape part of the winter......thats my reasoning for going awy for 7 weeks and I am sticking to it !!! AND the cold weather makes my back play up and makes my sore hand even more sore .....got all 5ha off my very ample chest ! so you can see I hate winter ....x
Re: Sept Card Swap Gallery & Thanks
Yeah its no fun waking up in the dark and coming home from work in the dark. But normally come in crank the heating up to make it lovely and warm and have hot chocolate with marshmallows in it
But 7 weeks away from it all would be bliss, I don't blame you Lexie

2weeks in Cape Town area with our friends from Glostershire then Micky and I drive up to Durban to spend time with my Mum and Dad , during that time we will go up futher north to the mountains and to THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD KRUGER PARK ,,,,,Can't wait ....!
Re: Sept Card Swap Gallery & Thanks
Kruger Park is apparently wonderful, but cruel. My daughter and son-in-law had a dreadful experience there earlier this year. Doing the rounds with a ranger and another couple they were taken to see, close up, a pride of lions. They had recently been involved in a fight with a second pride, and a young male from the second pride had been paralysed in the fight (as lions do to their prey) and so was left when his pride departed. The first pride settled near him and had been there for days, taking it in turns to attack him at intervals. He was horrendously injured, but defending himself as well as his limitations allowed. Unfortunately, this happened when my daughter was there, and she ended in tears with her head buried in my son-in-laws chest, hands over her ears in an attempt to drown out the noise. Even so, she says it was worse than any noise you could possibly imagine. (The ranger kept their jeep there the whole time, immune to it himself and apparently thinking it was a sight the visitors would want to see!)
When they left, my lovely son-in-law told my daughter that the young lion had died, but the following day the insensitve ranger mentioned that it was still going on, and that the male would be kept alive as long as possible to extend his torment! Talk about a game of cat and mouse.
Killing for food is a fact of life, but cruelty for the sake of it....... somehow I wanted to think better of animals. It's reduced the attraction of Kruger Park, and similar others, for me anyway.

Re: Sept Card Swap Gallery & Thanks
I know it can be cruel but that aside it is the most peaceful and beautiful place in he world and I LOVE IT , even put in my will I want my ashes scattered there ..... if we did'nt have places like that we'd have no beautiful animals for our grand children to see. The birds are out of this world. lexie

I know, but they could at least behave themselves when they've got visitors!
(Shell sent me a nice mail to say she hasn't been able to upload my card, but it has arrived safely, so I'm on next month's list. Thanks Shell. )

Re: Sept Card Swap Gallery & Thanks
Big Apologies to Francis for taking so long in posting her lovely card.
Couldn't find my camera, eventually found it in a bag with some spare clothes we took to my brothers BBQ last month.
Suppose I had to have a clear up sometime
Thank you for such a lovely card.
Pat x
