My birthday cards

Thankyou ladies to who sent me the lovely cards , i must say i am very dissapointed i did not receive quite a lot i thought it was down to the weather but still no late arrivals . I will have to review the club later if it happens again





I got one with no name from it is purple with a lady on with a quote saying whoever says money cant buy happiness.

The ones's you've received are lovely.
haven't seen Cally, Lesley, Donalda or Frances on the forums for a while though

They are lovely Andrea, thanks for showing them to us but it is very disappointing when they don't let you know that they are leaving I am not in it any more so you only had 7 from the official list and I see Sue only got 8 too Cally is on facebook and I asked her just before Christmas why she hadnt been on and she said she had been on holiday and would come back after Christmas

Perhaps the list needs updating for 2010! Count me in if you are planning to do it while I'm away.

Thanks ladies , the thing that annoys me most is not getting in touch . If Cally has had time to go on facebook then she has time to post on here . I dont want to name and shame has i know it will upset people. Si im going to review the list and see what happens. I was very happy to receive a card off you Jacky and you have left the club .I will keep note of you wanting to stay in Jane have a great holiday

Thanks Andrea. Sometimes you need to be tough. Naming and shaming might work but sending PMs may be the best first step and if they are not picked up follow it up with an email or text if you have the details. Perhaps when people join swaps these contact details should be given to the organiser as a sign of commitment!

It is so disappointing when people let you down. I had a lot of bad luck on the monthly card swap and nearly pulled out several times.

Thankfully we do still have a great group of ladies who will not let each other down and are fun to be with on the forum. I don't know what I'd do without you all - you've helped me through the good and bad times........bless you all.

I think it's a good thing to say who you've received cards from, people who've forgotten may be pleased to have their memories jogged. I liked the system where we entered the list of members participating and put our thanks beside their names as we received cards from them. Sometimes I have a miniature moment of panic when birthday greetings appear on the forum, if I can't immediately remember posting a card, and I'm pleased to have the reassurance! I'd want to know if I'd overlooked someone. Besides, I think we need to know if someone isn't joining in any more, it isn't a crime, just blooming bad manners! If they aren't going to reciprocate they should at least let us know.

I liked that too Christine - it was good if you sent one to know that it was received too I wonder how many Frances got too as her's was over Christmas

I checked back to my birthday last year and found I had 22 home made cards.
13 cards from ladies on the forum (not all in the birthday club) and another 9 from crafty friends. April was a quiet month but Dec/Christmas/Jan has been a busy time for card making (not that that's any excuse)

Looks like Christmas and the bad weather has made a bit of a difference as another 3 /4 people seemed to have forgotten/sent late/pulled out

Jan always does it for the card swap when she changes the colour of the names in the list to indicate that a card has been received.

I am another who likes the list of who has sent, it reassures me that the one I sent has arrived or jogs my memory to check the posting shelf to make sure its gone out I make them, place them on the posting shelf and then its Pete's job to post them he he He is able to go out daily whereas I'm not so its the best way for us .... its not me being lazy or passing the buck, honest guv he he

Right ive decided im going to do a list of who has sent and who has not green have and red not, its like you all say we like to know where we are . I can then make a new list of those who are in for 2010, I will do a post of cards sent and if you like you can post when you have sent your card , you can then check back if you cannot remember has ive been like that last year . I do that system on another forum and it works great.

nope thats not my card. Mine had a fairy. I PM'd andrea.

I am sorry I have not been on. Laptop went in for a repair (Which lasted 10 mins) and the Big PC crashed (hopefully will get that back at the weekend as the Laptop going back on Friday! I finished work on Thursday 19th December and started back last week but tHe Office was so busy I didn't manage to get on. (the world and his wife had boilers to repair I think!). Then it was ordering hell on Thursday as the sale on in the shop! Nightmare!

I posted 6 cards 31 st December one of which I know arrived on Saturday (16th). One I won't find out until Feb as she is in Florida as we speak. One went to Australia (I hope). I don't normally go to the main post office in Town as Its lost important post before on Several occasions. Including a set of Medical records which were posted recorded delivery. (which didn't actually leave the building)

I can only hope that they turn up and maybe the weather delayed them. ( i am not holding my breath here) if not, I am sorry i will make new ones. If i can get them done tonight I will, If not it is crop night tomorrow I will do them then and post them Wed! Sorry Girls i hate to let people down. I thought I was doing sooo well.

Shame when all your effort goes to waste ! hopefully they will turn up .
