Making Cards Empty Making Cards

Post  Scotty Sun Jan 24, 2010 1:36 am

Yip, I do mean the magazine!!
I don't know about anyone else that gets this mag but I really have trouble using the papers that come free with it.
I just have to force myself and even then I just cannot do it.
I do tend now to order the hard copy of any specials that they bring out then order another copy of the on-line mag. That way you can keep the hard copy for reference and as it costs just the same. They give you a code so you can print out the papers to your heart's content Very Happy
There is no time limit on it either. Only thing is that you have to be hooked up to a printer when you go on-line.
I apologise if I am repeating myself here but I just feel that it is worth pointing out.
I am not sure if you can do this with any monthly mag that you may particularly like but it is worth having a look on their website.

Making Cards Empty Re: Making Cards

Post  batmouse Sun Jan 24, 2010 11:48 pm

I feel a bit cheapskate using free papers on cards! (Unless I know its going to get thrown in the trash after the event) I know I have bought the mag... but .. I still feel a bit mean. We used to sell out of it within days of it arriving in the shop. I wonder if thats the reason why we have loads of back copies left???? Shocked

I know they seem to be sealing them up a lot more which means we open a copy for people (Including me) to browse, then decide. But to be honest I haven't had time to look. (I avoid the mags when they do the Mothers day cards as well. ) Still a bit early days... Sad

Making Cards Empty Re: Making Cards

Post  poppytree Mon Jan 25, 2010 2:37 am

I cancelled my subscription a while back as there were so many similar cards each time and the papers were not really my 'style' but it seems to have improved again! Have kept the templates/samples for different folds. I buy one occasionally if it catches my eye.

I love the new MAGNOLIA magazine and have just ordered issue 2. I hope to bring some Auusie ones back with me too.

Making Cards Empty Re: Making Cards

Post  Scotty Thu Jan 28, 2010 9:21 pm

I did stop my subscription for a while but have recently started again when I saw their Christmas special, which yes, I ordered via the web link Laughing
To be honest, I refuse to use the freebie papers that are enclosed in other mags
The quality of the paper and printing tends to be terrible although I do confess to printing them onto my own paper via their websites Smile
I have spent more than enough pennies on other craft items so have no problem whatsoever of using them. Must be my thrifty Scottish side coming out Razz

I have never tried a stamping mag yet. Is there anyone in particular you could advise me to get Jan?
Was Craft Stamper the actual name?
Magnolia? Not heard of that one Jane but apart from this one subscription I have not bought many mags for a while will have to keep an eye out for it
Thanks for the tip Very Happy

Craft stamper is the name of the mag Sadie, I also stopped getting the Make It mag as I have so many and really must use up some of those papers. They are the only papers I use out of magazines too but only very occasionally. Such a waste though sitting up on my shelves Very Happy

We didn't sell many of the Craft Stamper mag so we stopped getting it. But I guess it is because we don't sell a lot of stamps unless they are acrylic. The wooden ones end in the sale. I got to sneek on cos hubby snotty and grotty! xxx Very Happy

I've only been getting Craft Stamper since it changed its format last year, for the better I think he he. I love the fact that they cover other things like metalwork and new techniques that I can play with each month. Shame its only sold in Smiths or craft shops as it means I can't pick it up with my weekly shopping Smile
