A little sore, but relieved!
Managed nearly 9 hours sleep too and only had to get up once at about 3.00am (windy night but calmer this morning)
Looks like we're in for a storm here later and lots of rain.
Might get up to Asda to help Clive shop - I'll sit down while he does all the check-out stuff. I'm soooo excited about my first trip out
I shall be taking the afternoon easy and watching catch-up programmes.
Re: Wednesday
Just a quick hi girls as I'm trying to quickly sort the flat out in case I stay in today.
Glad you are starting to feel better now Jane but don't overdo it and use one of Asda's own wheelchairs if you feel tired, the self propel ones are ok and easy to move about in.
Hope Lou didn't overdo it yesterday on their little jaunt
Hugs for all and I promise not to feel bitter as you have a lovely dry day and its precipitating heavily here, I won't not at all ... I did promise ..... drat and double drat he he

Re: Wednesday
Hi all, sorry I am a bit late today........
Jen... you know me too well..... yes I did overdo it yesterday to the extent that I could not walk any further at one point and Ady had to get the car and drive it right up next to me in the precinct! I was sobbing my heart out and felt sooo embarassed My left hip was still playing up like it had all week but as I was walking the sciatica kicked in on the right leg and all of a sudden I couldn't move! It was on a level with when I was carted off to hossy by ambulance last year! Got home and laid out on sofa with heat pad and tens machine and plenty of pain relief! It has eased off a bit but is making getting about miserable. Hopefully it will settle soon enough.
Jane...so glad you have had some relief and that you got a good nights sleep... xxx
Have fun with the balloons Karen...we can't do any balloon blowing up in our house withoput the dog sitting on our feet...he adores balloons, jumps and nuts them and then carries on till his teeth get em and he pops em! We have a bag in the drawer specially if the weather is bad and he can't get much exercise outdoors cos he hates the rain, the wet weather makes his hip dysplaysia worse...so he jumps about indoors!!!

Re: Wednesday
Sent Juli a text..... dunno if she's been on and told you all but her wonderful hubby chris booked a surprise holiday for her... they are off on saturday to Wymouth Bay,... now why can't my hubby do that???!!!
Re: Wednesday
Sorry to here you've been overdoing things Lou - hope the pain is easing now.
I walked up and down a few aisles in Asda then sat and waited for Clive to come through the checkout.
Tired but happy I managed to get out. Had a visitor who came with grapes, flowers and a lovely prepared lunch for us which she left to heat up - salmon florentine - yummy.
All me bits still working OK and less wind in here today even if its lashing a gale and storm outside.
Glad Juli's getting a nice break. I'm not up to that yet but Clive is a star - he changed all the beds today and mowed the grass before the rain arrived. Cooking is challenging but he's getting the hang of timings now.

Re: Wednesday
Just a quick note to let you guys know the result of my visit today.
I went and in one way it was good and another bad he he He explained that if you cover a wound with a plaster it stays wet and open for a long time in comparison with the one left open so the air can dry it out. Well the wounds on my colon are not exposed to the air so will take a long time to heal. He said that each of the abscesses had to be drained then lanced off which has left my insides in a bit of mess. The pain I'm experiencing now is all that trying to settle down and trying to heal up, and be in the right place and so that I can stretch, walk etc. So I am constantly pulling the new healed skin about - I suppose a bit like picking an open wound on your arm, it takes ages to settle down and is sore for a long time.
He thinks I might have a hernia behind all this messed up scaring and wounds but is unable to get a good feel as I'm slightly swollen and have a layer of fat on my tummy .... his whispered comment was "a little bit of a pot", very Welsh indeed he he. So he has asked me to take pain killers to enable me to swim and walk so that things settle down properly and not in a sitting position and in 3 months time he will check on me again. He said that there is no way he would open me up again for at least 4 months or it will undo all their work. He kept saying "you have no idea how much work we did last time, you are so lucky to be alive", whilst I appreciate that I want to be alive and pain free soon he he
So the good news is no hospital stay and the bad news is no instant answer
Patience is a virtue that I rarely possess when it comes to my body he he
Lou you naughty girl ..... hope your recovery is quicker this time than the last time you kn******d yourself by overdoing it. Huge hugs
I think mine would surprise me with holidays, if he had the money to, bless him

Re: Wednesday
I'd give him a 'little bit of a pot'....... right on the flippin nose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheeky beggar!!!
Re: Wednesday
He he nah I really didn't mind him saying it as it was done in such a way that no-one could have taken offence. He could have just told me that I was fat and should loose weight - then I would be offended he he
Re: Wednesday
I have just realised why I kept thinking that Jen had posted and then realised it was Karen you both have the same bears and I just read Lou's comments on another post - sorry I'm sooo slow
Glad they are not opening you up again Jen, I suppose it makes sense. When I was cut during the birth of Ian (normal procedure in Oz at the time and he was my first so didn't realise that it wasn't normal) I had a couple of stitches and had to lie with legs akimbo with a heat lamp pointing at me after having a salt bath. Felt very vulnerable behind a couple of curtains. Hope you don't suffer too much Jen, I really don't know how you ladies put up with all the pain you got through - I am a wimp. Hugs to you both Lou & Jen.

Re: Wednesday
thanks chick, I have to admit after reading that I am so glad that I didn't give birth in Aussie as I had to have stitches on my first too as I tore ... she was only 5lbs 15 oz but still managed to tear me he he
Re: Wednesday
Mine were 9lbs and 9 1/2lbs when I was an old size 12/14 (about an 8 now) - no wonder I'm having problems now!
