Morning everyone. It's cold, dark and very windy here again today.
I was hoping Joshua would go back to school today but he still isn't 100% so it's not worth sending him in because his teacher would only send him home agin. (the slightest sniff and she send them home )
I need to finish some birthday cards for the weekend but I haven't got the items I need for them and I don't get any money until Wednesday so I will probably have a go at some ATCs.

Well I have had a morning and a half!
First of all I was up early as we had some men coming in today.... having the heating sorted out. Didnt want to be in my nightie when they turned up, thinking it was going to be 8.00.
I then went down to Mum's and got there just as the Carer was leaving.... she said Mum was very confused and had got all her clothes out on the spare bed. Even summer stuff that I had hidden! Maria also mentioned a pair of trousers that Mum had knotted together (wasnt sure what she meant) I got upstairs and everything was on the bed that I had put away the day before and the day before that. I think Mum was a model in a previous life as she has daily fashion shows!! The trousers I found stuffed with .... a teatowel, a coaster, remote control, another pair of trousers, a skirt, hat, gloves and a pair of socks - then knotted at the top with the hanger tags (at this point I felt a little like Mary Poppins!!!) This is when it gets hard. Also she had unplugged all the telephone cables, and the Lifeline machine. Mum has gone off to Daycare a little upset, and I have made them aware. They are looking at getting her in for another day at Daycare.... not sure what she will think to that.
I got home, had to tend to my farm and the phone rang... it was the Heating engineer saying they wouldnt be coming today! Typical!!
Anyway, the sun is shining, the wind is blowing and I have been busy shifting furniture back just for the time being.

Hope everyone is ok, its a bit quiet.
Hope Joshua soon feels better. Amy was full of cold the other week, and she was struggling to talk.... her teacher apparently told her she shouldnt have gone in... cruel me sending her to school!!!

Karen , like yourself I've always dosed my kids up and packed 'em up for school when I could get away with it ! I worked night duty and needed my sleep ! When they were older I was on day duty , and had a childminder for after school and she was excellent at having them if they were poorly.
Shame Karen its so sad about your mum at least you can be upbeat about it .My friend her mums in a lovely home but Kati always trys to go in on a lunch time to ffed her as it takes a hour to eat a tin amount and there arn'nt enough staff to sit that long to feed her, but some days they can't get in and then you worry about her .Its a real worry .But her mum did weird things before going into the home.You seem to have a good care package.I know you've had to fight for it , Iam sure another day at the care centre will be a blesssing for you .
Frances do you want to join in our ATC swap you'd be very welcome .
We' ve been out to Crawley this morning and then went to get 10 tons of Cat food for while we are away , our neighbours are looking after him for us , we might not get him back as the 5 year old daughter loves him ! well must dash as I've got things to do ,,,,x

Afternoon ladies. Might be a bit AWOL this week as I've decided to decorate the kitchen
I actually bought the paint a year ago but then holidays and sickness took over. Thought if I started it I would have to finish it as it's too easy to keep putting off starting if you see what I mean.
Karen both my parents did weird things! Mum used to hide things like money and her ings wrappped in bits of paper and in the toes of her slippers! Dad used to try to be useful! He rewired the electric fire and the TV into one plug one day- fortunately I called in that day and found what he'd done when Mum compalined the TV was all fuzzy! Another day he took all the doors off their wardrobes - never did find out why and the backs off the dining room chairs! I think he thought he was mending them!

Glad Cameron is feeling a bit better Juli and hope Josh feels better soon.

Hope Joshua recovers quickly Frances, they soon get bored and more lethargic the longer they are home. Mine were hardly ever off, even when Sally was very ill she went into hospital during the 6 weeks holidays and went back to school in the October.

Karen - huge hugs for you, you poor thing it must be distressing for you to see her like that, and I shouldn't imagine she is very old as your not as old as me. When people talk about their mums I just imagine everyone's Mums are the same age as mine Mum is just cantankerous now and repeats things that she has told you the day before but otherwise her mind is ok. It's her body wearing out.

Juli, glad Cameron is coming along ok - hope it wont be long until he is free of pain.

Thank you everyone... Mum has come back and not very good at all. Very argumentive, she is very tired, she thinks its midnight! Trouble is the sleeping tablets she takes dont really have that much of an effect at nighttime... its the day after when she can sleep!!Good job she has a night sitter tonight. We tend to have a few good days, and then several bad days.
Jacky... Mum is 81, she has her fair share of aches and pains and thats another thing that doesnt help. Just have to hope tomorrow is better.
Had a call from the heating people and its going to be WEdnesday now when they come At least we can have the heating on tonight.

Oh she isn't far off my mum then, she is 86 - I was second born and she had 5 of us altogether

My goodness Sue ! What a nightmare your dad must of been , scary what could of happaned ! Well the taxi for Dulcie still was'nt organised , well it turned up after Rupert had taken her to school , as no one knew she was suppose to be picked up today so its organised for Tomorrow ....Micky picked her up , eventually finding her in reception having another meeting after having a fight with a nother girl ..... she had her had bandaged up, and the other girl had to be restrained ! so who knows who what was going on , Iam furious with her , of course she says it was'nt her fault !!!! So Iam pretty cross with her ..... watch this space ..... Tild you I was'nt going to get positive about school .
Rupert came round this arvy , he is so full of cold . and coughing like a dog 'Iam a bit concerned he has lost loads of weight , Iam pretty sure its because he's not at the gyn or doing motor cross but he does seem a real skinny minni ! speak later
