Wednesday
Good morning ladies.
Well the thunderstorm lasted about an hour here yesterday, but my word did it cool everywhere down. But the sun is out again now at 7.30am so I don't know if we are in for any more or not.
I have an email friend coming to see me this afternoon, we met on a forum a few years ago but this will be the first time we have met, so I am going to work this morning but leave a bit early, as I wouldn't want to meet anyone for the first time with my hair as it is at the moment lol then I can get it done before she gets here.

Re: Wednesday
Managed 3 hours sleep and am off to work now. Concrete lorry for foundations didn't arrive as promised yesterday so there's no way the wall will be finished today as promised. Great look for any drive pasts!
Back later. At least the sun is shining. Keeping a low profile and out of someones way until I feel like a civil conversation or get an appology or explanation.

Re: Wednesday
Good morning Marion, Jane and all who follow. Neil Diamond was fantastic last night.2 hours 20mins of great songs with no break. He certainly hasn't lost his voice. All packed up now ready for the journey home. Martin is just taking the first lot of stuff down to the car.
Enjoy meeting your friend Marion. It has been my pleasure to meet several of my friends on this forum. Hope you have a better day today Jane.

Re: Wednesday
Note on the kitchen table to say I AM UNDEMINING HIS DESCISIONS! It would have been good to be consulted first! There is no way I wanted a Rolls Royce when a Mini would do (even though the old one was servicable). Totally unnecessary expense IMO - purely cosmetic and something we could have done without.
Re: Wednesday
Notes on the table !! omg just proves men are always 5 years old
PS A smack up the back of head works sometimes

Re: Wednesday
Smack on head won't work - far too thick!
He's made a mistake and won't admit it!
Neighbour is very manipulative and persuasive and Clive couldn't resist the manly chat.
Rob next door also has very expensive tastes and is a perfectionist (and has cash to burn as he's just sold a flat he was renting out!).
Going to bite the bullet and thrash it out when he gets in. 36 hours without speaking is long enough! I want to sleep tonight - three hours is not enough for me and that was with a hot chocolate and triple measure of Baileys at 3.30am!

Re: Wednesday
Jane, best of luck tonight.
Well my friend arrived this afternoon with her hsusband and the two friends they are on holiday with. They were here about three hours and I don't think we stopped talking once!
It was lovely to meet her.
Yes, it would be nice to meet some of you, but I think you all live so far away from me.

Re: Wednesday
He arrived home said 'lets draw a line under it and move on' I said 'I'm having my say first, have you any idea why I'm so angry/upset?' 'No idea' so I explained in detail - very firmly, said how I really felt.
He hinted but wouldn't actually admit he had been manipulated, so we have now 'moved on' but he sure knows he's made a costly mistake. I never wanted at 4' wall to close us in only a replacement 2' one.
Should sleep better now thew air is cleared even if we are poorer!
Hopefully they'll start building the wretched thing tomorrow ready for viewings on Friday and next Tuesday

Re: Wednesday
Jane, am so sorry for what you are going through.
Divorce and moving house they say are the two most stressful things.
Well, I have done both, and believe you me, I think moving is the worst.

Re: Wednesday
Slept reasonably well - in the spare bed ........ but at least we thrashed it out and I got my point of view over.
Still furious but we are now talking and matter is supposedly closed. I do not like being told to 'get over it and move on' when he's the one who made a huge mistake and refuses to accept responsibility or appologise.
Piles of rubble and bricks outside the window, the old (perfectly acceptable) wall demolished but no sign of work starting. Should have been completed yesterday. Looks like a tip and we have a viewing later today. Who knows, it may be done by next Tuesday when we have another viewing. I'm not holding my breath.

Re: Wednesday
Glad you thrashed it out with him Jane, just hope the work gets started soon for you. Have the bricks for the wall been delivered as our builder didn't ask for any money until the materials were all delivered and he had paid for them. Just hope your neighbour chose a decent builder

Me too!
Re: Wednesday
He's made a start.
We now have ghastly red bricks that are nothing like the house or our drive.
The poppies have been ripped out and the raised bed flattened, and it stops a foot short of the drive leaving a patch of bare earth!
If it is going to be 4' high (old one was about 18") nothing will grow in that deep shade and instead of seeing the neat grass verges from the lounge window all we'll see is this aweful wall - a contant reminder of Clive's folly and all that money wasted!
Before the poppies emerged - looks like some have been pulled out already it is usually a riot of colour from late May to mid June:
