Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
Thanks for that - I shop at Asda (less than a mile) and occasionally Sainsburys (4 miles) but the nearest Tesco is about 8 miles away
Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
My nearest Tesco is 10 miles away, upon until
a couple of years ago we didnt have any.
Now we have Tesco, M & S, Aldi and Lidl which
is great and so much cheaper than the Irish
supermarkets

Thanks for the tip off Cally
Alan managed to get the last two large tins at our local Tesco's this morning
He got one for myself and says he fancies taking up watercolouring again
It would be sooooo nice to see him doing something relaxing like that
All thanks to you Cally

Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
I've got mine and just tried them out, very good. Got them from the Camberley Meadows branch, about 4 tins left now Just checked the price of Cally's and mine were £6.00 for 24 Not such a good bargain but I know I have looked at prices of them before and they were £3.95 for 6 in a local shop

Ah! You must have bought the tins of 12 for £3
There were also tins of 36 for £5
Still a bargain as you so rightly pointed out
Methinks they are a tad too popular!!!
I have a pack of Wentworth watercolour pencils and I dread to think what I paid for them
Re Bargain Watercolour Pencils
Hi
Got mine yesterday but only managed to get the 24 for £6. Still I think it was a bargain!

Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
Hi All so glad to have been helpfull sorry you had to pay more i didnt see those 24 for £6, only saw the small ones for £3 and the large for £5 but i have bought mine for xmas pressies for the grandchildren and friends children who I buy for
Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
mine are named Gallery and they are good. I bought some tiny scissors from Tescos about 6 months ago and find they are the best thing I have bought for decoupage - they were black with purple handles but they cut right to the end of the point so get into the smallest places They have a craft section in the Camberley branch but I don't usually go there as it is so big it takes ages to get around. May go more often just to look at the craft section
Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
Those little scissors are brilliant aren't they, I have a pair too
My local Tesco has had more craft items in - I love the 39p bags for kids, its a brilliant idea to get them started its such a pity lots of parents won't sit and make things with their kids. My grandkids made two congrats cards for their mum when they were down with me not so long ago and they were brilliant. If I had posted them people would have thought that I had made them he he. They do tend to copy each other's ideas to a certain extent though. My daughter was amazed that I gave them free reign in my craft room, supervised of course but they were free to use whatever they wanted he he

Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
I don't go to the Meadows Tesco's much either as it's so big. Can never find what I want Usually only go when I'm at M&S and haven't been there much either 'cos I aleays spend too much Might have to have a visit sometime though if they have a craft section- is it any good
Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
There was a lot of empty spaces on the shelves yesterday but it could be just because it was Sunday, but I have only been there twice and the first time I know I bought a few things but can't remember what, except for the scissors.

Hello everyone,
Here in the Midlands it's really too nice to be inside, even for crafting but I wanted to send a quick 'thank you' for the recommendation regarding the scissors. I bought a pair this morning, after a search through the reduced 'back to school section' I managed to catch an assistant, who suggested I check out a craft section I've never seen before, (hidden away in a non-food area I don't usually bother with) and there they were. I have just tried them out, smashing, so thanks for the tip!
Think I'll go back outside now and eat one of the Cornetto's I also bought this morning! Enjoy the day, whatever you're doing, and lots of thanks,
Christine

Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
I bought those scissors in Tesco the last time I was up in Scotland and I totally agree
They are the best decoupage scissors I have ever tried and so comfortable to use
Their kiddies metallic water paints are also very good, very similar to expensive ones raved about in the craft world
I also love their reams of best quality paper and their photograph everyday paper is WOW!
Last time I was up north they were selling the small Xyron sticker maker refills for £2.50
Guess who grabbed a few?
It sure is worth keeping any eye on their offers
You brought back memories Jen of me crafting with my own 4
Although I have only been card-making a wee while I always used to do craft with my children
I enjoyed having them off during the summer as we always had great fun together
Now all you hear on tv is the broadcasters talking about how parents don't know how to cope with them during the holidays

Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
You are right about a lot of parents nowadays Sadie, I loved having my children home for the holidays - we had such fun doing things. We have a field behind the house and would go on there and play cricket and rounders and things with them and the neighbours children. They would also go over there on their bikes and climb trees What terrible parents we were allowing them to put their lives at risk. When it was raining we would sit and play with clay or fimo or make models with cardboard etc. They were never bored. Now we never see any children in the field even the few whose gardens back onto the field They go off to child minders or grandparents as their parents are working. I wouldn't have missed my time with the children.
Back to Tesco - a workmate of mine said he used the Tesco everday photo paper as inserts but I didnt see it when I was there. Must have another look, forgot last time

Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
Hi there well have been away for the weekend up to Wigan to the inlaws, and we went to the works I dont now if you know it, but I thought I had a bargain with the watercolours but they had coloured pencils in a tin 50 for £2.99 they were not watercolour but thought they were a bargain any way.
Re: BARGIN WATERCOLOUR PENCILS
We went to the BIG Tesco shop at the Meadows on Saturday and I had a look at their craft section too
Quite impressive.............for a supermarket but Anne has nothing to fear
At the return to school section I bought a couple of the the small staplers, complete with coloured staples (BARGAIN!), some A5 ring binders and A5 poly pockets (brilliant for storing clear stamps and packets of 3D stickers), some A4 ring binders and poly pockets
I also bought a packet of coloured feathers from the kiddies section and a bottle of their silver kiddies metallic paint
So all in all a productive shop
