Thomas Kinkade stamps.
I brought a Kinkade stamp at the Farnborough show in Feb, the lady had only had them in the night before so she wasnt able to try them out, she told me to use a brayer on it, well I have tried that way, but cant seem to get a good look, have any of you ladies one of these stamps, if so what do you use please. Janet x
Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
I bought one of those too Janet, the fisherman by the river I had excellent results by just putting the stamp down and patting it with the ink pad as usual. I used a Versafine ink pad in sepia, smokey gray and black and was successful in all. I could only find them in the small ink pads too. Martin was most impressed with the one I coloured in using Marvy Markers and water brush and copying the colours on the stamp
Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
Thank you Jacky I shall try that, I brought the Cobblestone Bridge, when I did stamp it you could see so much in it so if I get the stamp pad right it will be beautiful. Janet x
Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
I've stamped mine in a few different colours but have never painted them, I'm chicken he he Here is one I stamped on green paper and then matted and layered with gold on dark green card. A very basic card but you get the idea he he
Looking at that now I can't believe I sent that to someone he he Ah well its fun to look back at old cards and see how your card making style has changed

Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
It looks good on coloured card - have to try mine on some Thanks for showing it Jen.
Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
Gosh Jenny that looks lovely. Never thought of coloured paper, I have got a Versacolor I shall give that go tonightLv Janet xx
Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
Nice card Jen - its quite a shock looking back at some of my earlier examples (a bit basic)
A lots of the more heavily detailed 'picture' stamps look good inked with a brayer and using a rainbow pad such as Adirondak.

I tried a brayer Jane but mine didnt look at all right, perhaps it was the stamp pad I used with it Janet xx
Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
The ink pad needsto be quite moist and I use a 'solid' rubber brayer giving it plenty of rolls to ink the stamp completely. Try using a glossy or coated card for the best results.
Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
I have a Woodware brayer but it could have been the pad I think it was a little dry. Janet x
Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
I have to admit I have pouted from using brayers as the first one I bought was too small and second hand so I wasn't sure that it was working properly. The second one I bought was Woodware but it had a curve in the centre of it so that the middle never touched the paper. It was at that point that I decided, balderdash I'll do without he he Now I just apply direct from the pad
Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
Jenny, that's a lovely card
I have some brayers but had no luck with them so they're on the naughty shelf atm lol. I may get them down again and have a play.

Re: Thomas Kinkade stamps.
Thanks for the lovely comments about my card, though I am hoping that if I did one now it would be much better than that one he he.
This lady is the reason I wanted a brayer, I think her work is fantastic and get her tutorials emailed daily ...
