Re: Im back
Welcome back.
My computer has had a spring clean today too. Backed up all my files and photos. Downloaded a lot of old stuff on to discs and deleted from the hard drive. (including about 3000 photos)
Installed some updates for Windows, Java etc and it seems to be running a bit quicker now.

Jane would you come to my house and clean out my computer... I need to back up our computer and it really needs a clean up. It's a tad sluggish... sometimes like me... I need to get some disc and do the same. -sigh- Do you have "Windows Vista?" That's the windows system we have. I'm hoping that it will be just a matter of "clicking on back up and inserting the disc in".

Re: Im back
Thanks all ,for the welcome back.
I bought a dragon fly from a craft fayre in Warwickshire, they were wired with a beaded body and are really lovely. They looked like the wings were done with a liquid which sets like glass then painted with glass paint. Does anyone know where i can get this liquid glass please? thanks Kate.

Re: Im back
I'm still on Windows XP. Can't afford to pay out for the latest versions of all the Microsoft programmes when this works OK. I don't even have the full version of Office -just the student & teachers 2003 version.
If it ain't broke -don't try to fix it I say!

If its like the flowers I have seen at local craft fairs they said they were made with wire fames and liquid acrylic, but were not very forthcoming with where to get it from. I haven't searched on the net for a supplier but may when I'm ready to try it out
Oh and welcome back Kate
Re: Im back

Dip it Fantasy Film http://www.lainesworld.co.uk/craft/fantasyfilm.htm
I took mine to a charity shop last year as I never used it after the first day I bought it years ago when my daughter was about 12 and we did have fun with it, quite easy to do but never really found a use for it - probably could now
Re: Im back
You may be able to find it elsewhere, I just googled for it and that was the first site I found, then got carried away browsing the site - hence the plastic baubles
Re: Im back
Thanks Jacky,
I looked on e-bay yesterday under liquid acrylic , which came under nail art! Im a bit bothered if the fumes might affect my chest with the large tins though . But the website is great!

Re: Im back
I can't remember any fumes, and I let my daughter play with it I can't imagine the stuff they use for nail art would be the same thing, but I don't know Don't know how you would dip the wires into it either
Re: Im back
Im going to order some of the liquid acrlic from the site you mentioned Jen. Will i be ok with the normal clear stuff ,without the thinner or hardener?
Thanks again Kate

Re: Im back
Wasn't my link hun and I honestly have no idea how to do any of it, just said its one of the things I would like to have a go at after Christmas. Sorry I can't help you
Re: Im back
I dont think you would need thinners immediately but as you use it and it is open to the air it will evaporate and thicken so may need some then. I have just been reading the instructions on the site and there is obviously fumes as it says use in a well ventilated area When I used it there wasn't any hardener - just different colours so had no need to paint them so I wouldn't know about that I quite fancy doing it again now You are tempting me
Re: Im back
Sorry Jackie , got you r name mixed up!iI will order some thinner too, when i do order the stuff . It isnt dear stuff,I have some Pebeo glass paints also which i can use on it . Its funny i have been thinking of making some angels in Mache, this fantasy film would also make angel wings!

Re: Im back
What a good idea, it would be lovely for angels wings. You will have to take photos and post them on here when you do them
