Good Morning Wednesday

Good Morning all. Not a brilliant day again. Doing H*******k today, and making Steak & Kidney pie for dinner tonight. I cook the meat in the slow cooker first and it's really tender then Anyone having bonfire of fireworks tonight. All my family are going to the local school display on Saturday and then coming back to me for soup, jacket potatoes etc. I will be home with Molly, our dog as neither of us like fireworks Hope you all have a good day. Hello Jacky and ladies, the weather here is not nice again, it is so long since we have seen the sun it was shopping with my brother this morning, and have to get stuck into the last bits and bobs before we are of at the weekend to Derbyshire, one week with friends then a week on our own , Needless to say h hope to do a factory outlet of crafting or two I do hope you are all ok, I wont say fit and well, as there is just so much going around, take care of yourselves Janetxx

I'm back from Malta and very happy to be back, Malta is a nice place and the weather was wonderful 25 (what ever ) every day but also very humid, the hotel was great and the food was good, but I nearly killed my Aunt and I will not be sorry if I don't see her for a long time. She was impossible, she doesn't eat meat in any kind of sauce, she doesn't eat veg or any thing thats looks like it may have some spice on it even if it's only salt and pepper, she would not eat the ham or chesse if green peppers had been put on the tray for decoration, so basicly she eat bread crisps, chips if they were on and deserts, why go to another country if you know you wont eat the food, she complained about everything. But I had a good time with Mum, even though most of it was spent in the casino, waiting about on my part because every time I put money in the machines I thought of the craft products I could buy

I hope everyone is well and I see Andrea is stepping down from the card swop, thanks for all your hard work Andrea and great to have you take over Cubbie.

Your pie sounds great Jacky and I hope you have a great holiday Janet. My cats hate all the noise to night so I tend to stay in with them, but I like the idea of soup and pots Jacky.

You have only just come back to us Janet and now you are off again - don't forget the recession, you can't keep this up you know The same could be said of you Mikki two holidays one after the other Sorry your aunt spoiled it for you though. My mum is a bit like that, just plain food, but she will have salt or pepper

Afternoon ladies, tis odd I love liver but can't stand kidneys always seems sort of hard compared to the rest of the meat in a pie, wouldn't and couldn't even entertain the idea of eating them whole
Good to see you back Mikki, leave Aunt at home next time not worth the hassle I would say, as long as I don't get served up squid or the like, kidney beans or kidneys I will eat or at least try most things Went to eat some calamari once when on a night out with work collegues and as I went to cut it it felt boingy and couldn't face it after that
Have got a couple of cards to get made this afternoon.

Good afternoon ladies.
Thank you all for your good wishes for Michael. Took him to fracture clinic this morning and had to queue for 45 minutes just to get into carpark! Good job we left in plenty of time, as it was he got out and went in while I queued. Still only got the sling on. He has to try to move it every day gently or he will lose mobility in the elbow. He probably won't get it fully straight again. Not a surprise as my sister broke her elbow and her arm was never completely straight afterwards. He has to keep sling on for two weeks and then start physio. Fotunately we were able to arrange that at Fleet Hospital as I didn't fancy all that queuing every time we went. And it costs £1 an hour to park! His arm is very colourful- black,purple,red and yellow!

Glad to see you back Mikki- pity your aunt spoiled it for you though. Weather is not so humid there in the early summer if you ever go again.

No fireworks for me tonight or at the weekend. Now children are all grown up I can give them a miss. Last time I went to a display was in 2001 at work and come to think of it Michael was on crutches then!

Must get on with moving craft stuff - I think it might take quite a while- I've got more than I thought!

Did manage to finish my card swap though so will get that in post tomorrow.

Welcome back Mikky, you've been missed, we didn't know how to start a daily thread without you he he It's a shame your aunt was a pain in the rear, I don't understand people who won't even try the food and culture of a country they visit either. Still there's always your next holiday with Alan to plan and cheer you up

I'm glad that your son slept better Sue and hope the physio won't be too painful for him. Hospital parking is horrendous these days, and the cost is rediculous. Even though the Welsh Assembly has ruled that all hospitals should have free parking the main hospital for Wales based in Cardiff still charges and will do until 2011 as they have a contract until then and the Assembly won't buy it back from them.

Sounds lovely the steak and kidney pie Jacky, but can I have my portion without the kidneys please? I'm with Jan on this one I love liver but can't stand kidneys he he. I can't eat the liver when my immune system is low though, but I still manage to eat it now and again

Tash and I will be staying in tonight too as the poor thing is petrified of the fireworks. The only places she feels remotely safe are either in the wardrobe with me stood outside it or under the bed with me lying on the floor next to her talking to her. Guess where I'm spending the night he he I hate it when Bonfire night is mid week as it seems to go on every night from the weekend before to the weekend after. Don't get me wrong I love the organised firework displays but when they are ad hoc in people's gardens it doesn't afford consideration for the people who have animals and love their pets too. I'm hoping that as Tash gets older she may gain enough confidence to be able to cope with the noise.

I've started popping in on a Wednesday morning, when my health permits, to my local craft shop as she does free demos of various techniques, a different one each week. Three weeks ago she mentioned that she was running a card comp but the closing date was the following day. I took down one of the cards from my store box and thought nothing more of it until today. I was gobbsmacked to find out that I had won first prize £50 worth of crafting goodies which she'll put together for me to pick up next Wednesday I have been so lucky in the last few competitions I have entered I was very lucky a week ago and had a lovely surprise present from a friend, with lots of craft goodies to play with I think my Christmas is happening now he he
