Greetings from Oz
G'day
Well, here I am - safe down under.
Thursday was a bit fraught as we had lots of ice and cars couldn't get down our road. We made it to the next street with our luggage and tyhe taxi got us to Heathrow with several hours to spare! Slight delay on the tarmac as they had to de-ice the wings before take-off.
First flight to Singapore was brilliant - we were in one of the new Airbuses - much bigger and faster than a jumbo and with wider seats too. Didn't sleep for the whole 12 hours! Then 4 hours at Singapore airport - time for a walk round the beautful orchid garden, shop and a swim in the transit hotel pool on the roof - really wierd swimming at midnight under the starts in an open-air pool watching planes take off.
Final leg to Adelaide not so comfortable but at least it was quicker and we touched down at 9.00am to 41 degrees and blue sky. (still Friday night in the UK) Spent the morning unpacking and playing with the girls and the afternoon in the pool. By 6.00pm I had been awake for over 48 hours so it was time for bed.
12 hours later I woke refreshed and even slept through thunder, lightning and a heavy shower. Today is cool and cloudy (high 70s - 26-30) and we've spent the day at a charity cricket match with a picnic lunch. Starting to flag a bit and plan another early night.
Hope you are all surviving the snow OK and that the poorlies are making a good recovery. Talk to you soon
