Did anyone else buy a St Valentine's day card? Empty Did anyone else buy a St Valentine's day card?

Post  Christine Sun Feb 15, 2009 1:04 am

I bought my husband's card, despite having thousands of pounds worth of crafting stash (it soon mounts up, when you're a quick shopper and slow crafter!) I'd happened to see a card with exactly the sentiments I wanted, so I bought it. I was very pleased with it, although a little guilty, but I felt much worse when I received mine from him. Embarassed He'd made it secretly, from my stock he only used enough letters to write 'wife' and some gold card he'd cut into hearts to stick the letters on, the rest he'd cut from magazines etc. (handbags, shoes, flowers, sentiments - and underwear!) and I love the thought of all the effort that went into it. He'd decorated all four sides of the card, and it looks good, (I won't put it on the website, it's just for me) but I am ashamed, definitely. I won't be buying for him again, my card was fancier, but couldn't compare to his. Did everyone else make their cards? Please someone, say No! cheers

Mine brought me a cup of tea in bed - he's only just found his way round my daughter's kitchen.

I cooked him a special meal and remembered to bring a home-made card with me decorated with Scandinavian hearts using HOTP template on a pop-up slider card

Martin spent all day building my shelve and he made the dinner while I was filling them. The stone worked well although there was a loud cracking noise and a crack appeared across the top of the stone. We were a bit worried but in the instructions it says that cracks do appear. Just hope it doesnt break in half before next week Laughing Laughing

Pete is far more romantic than I am and bought me a card but gave it with 36 red roses and had bought one of the M&S romantic meal deals, so we had the salmon with new potatoes and salad, followed by melt in the middle chocolate puds with loads of whipped double cream and rose Cava. It was lush and we kept the pate to have today as it would have been too much for us all bought in one go Smile Then huddled up to watch Shrek 3 he he

I'll post the two cards we sent/made each other in my gallery in a bit Smile
