please help before i go insane - embossing

Im trying to make my own wedding invitations but its not going well - i do not have my creative head on today

Anyhoo - my problem.. i want to emboss using a stencil... but the card i have is white and when i do the embossing you can hardly see it, the invitation looks so plain. i dont have a stamp in the same design and i dont know how to add colour with stencil embossing

i am gonna throw it out of the window soon lol

tried chalks???? Test though on a scrap piece of card. Use a little at first then build up colour. WAtercolour pencils as well. Same principle. Less is more. Don't overdo the water. Test on scrap card to see how it works out some card can buckle, though I prefer chalks it gives a more subtle effect. x Sprays such as cosmic shimmer? Though I have only tried that on a sizzix embossed witch. She looks okay.

I would have suggested chalks and you could also try the Cosmic shimmer powders to give the embossed area a glimmer rather than outright colour. Do show us the finished ones so that we can admire them

how do you do it though? do you mean trace through the stencil then emboss it? or do you mean emboss it then rub chalk on it?

if you have a cuttlebug (or can borrow one) you can mass produce cards much quicker. You need the right embossing folders (and some die-cuts) but they do have some nice hearts, wedding, flower, or butterfly ones which may be suitable.

White on white can look stunning too

Or something a bit stunning a bit of Glimmer mist irridesecent gold is fab, just try lots of things until you are really happy, I got married 3years ago and half way through changed the design I got bored doing them all the same!!!! lexie

am thinking of giving the glimmer mist a try. I wasnt very imaginative. I used peel offs.... but I was just starting out and I only had 4 weeks. Marry at speed and all that.... snigger...... No we managed to get in at Gretna. We had been planning it for a while but Mouselet turned up a bit earlier than planned..... XXXX
