We had a thunderstorm and rain last night so thank heaven it is cooler today I WILL have a great day today, my daughter is coming for lunch

I too hope Andrea soon gets sorted, when I had shingles I wasn't a happy bunny Knowing what the problem is makes a big difference, at least you know how to treat the symptoms etc. I do hope you start to feel better soon Andrea.

Must go and start the lunch, making french onion tart to go with salad and need to attack 500gms of onions!

Morning all, I think we had the rough deal in Wales as it started raining yesterday afternoon, we had some thunder and its still pouring down Worst still they forecast it to be like this until Thursday at the earliest Still, perfect crafting weather he he.

We have sunshine now but have had two heavy downpours, yesterday afternoon and in the night. I don't feel it has cooled the temperature down at all or is it just that I may be at that awkward age.

Just done a bit of food shopping.

Off to do some tidying up now.yuk!!

Sorry to hear that Andrea has been poorly. Hope the drs appointment went well

I went around to the shops on my electric buggy and on the way back...........
The battery gave up

I wasn't too far from home but I had to negotiate the underpass
On the way down it was no bother I just sat in my chair and freewheeled
On the way out of it is a VERY steep hill

By the time I got home my poor body ached from top to toe and hasn't stopped aching since
I sent a text to Alan and he told me to get my feet up and not move all day
I have had no option but to obey
What really upset me was the amount of people who just ignored me
The battery was showing full when I left and it just run out of charge!!
I think I might need a new one as I have put on sooo much weight and it is only a small machine that has a weight restriction which I am over now

However I am sooo proud of myself as I haven't shed not one tear............yet!!!
I just know that when Alan walks through the door............

I honestly believe strangers are afraid to help out these days. When my ankles, knees or feet give under me I used to fall to the ground and the only way I could get up was if I had something to pull myself up by. People would walk past me lying on the floor which meant I had to crawl to a wall or something to support myself, rather than help. This was in the main shopping street of Cardiff, so plenty of people around Thankfully I have learnt to balance better and now just lunge around for a while rather than hit the deck he he .... you know the drunken idiot walk he he I'm not sure if its embarrassment that stops folks helping or the fear of getting accused of doing something wrong if they do try and help. I partly blame our litigation society and the nanny state
I hope you are feeling ok now Sadie after a good rest. Make sure that Alan checks out the battery and connections for you before you set off again on your adventures

On a positive note, there is one good thing, you felt well enough to go out and try a solo trip ... that's brilliant WTG girl he he

I agree with you Jen, it is shocking - they probably thought you were drunk but someone on a disabled buggy, I would have thought someone would have helped.

But am suffering today
My arms and hands are working very slowly and painfully
And the legs have more or less given up
Feet up for me again today

What really annoys me is that I had an appointment for acupuncture tomorrow morning !!and I have had to cancel
Got another app for 14th August and have asked for transport as there is no way I am getting a taxi!!

Yes ..........the fact that I got out was a bonus, I love going along to the shops and chatting to everyone

So sorry to read about yesterday Sadie, you always hope when something hapens that people will be there to give a hand, I blame it on this day and age, hubby use to travel along a mine road to work everyday for 20 years, and he use to stop and help anyone that had broken down, but he said he stopped doing it in later years, because he said you never knew if you you were doing the right thing, I had a couple of gentlemen help me out years ago when the car broke down, and I was really pleased, but I wouldnt get out the car now, not that anyone would want a silver haired lady like me lv Janet xx

To be honest it was a bit of a worry
If someone stopped would their intentions be good?
It ia always in the back of your mind especially when you are as vulnerable as I was yesterday
It is a shame that it is like that though. Gone are the days when people thought nothing of just helping others though I always did tend to jump in without thinking when I was fit

As you say gone are the days, and it is such a shame, we all need help at sometime or another,and we only have our fellow man, and most of the trust has gone now, I would like to be about 40 again, 20 years ago, it was a little better than this day and age, guns and knives, just where are the youngesters coming from now . I remember saying exactly these words in front of my youngest son
He was just a wee thing and puzzled why I asked it. He thought for a little while and innocently replied
'From their Mums and Dads, of course!'
Well talk about oout of the mouth of babes!!!
These weren't youngsters that passed me by and I know there are a LOT of good people out there, youngsters included.
I blame the media hyping it all up to be honest and the break up of the close knit communities there used to be
Goodness, I wouldn't have dared try anything when I was young or my Mum would known about it by the time I got home!!!
Too many relatives in the town!!
But there again the punishment meted out in those days was OTT

CONUNDRUM:-

How do you carry a plate or a cup of tea when you use elbow crutches?
My OT said I should be using both elbow crutches at all times and I do feel better when I do that but................
How are you meant to carry things?
I usually use a carrier bag but you can't do that when you are moving cups and plates and inevitably I have to leave one behind and end up forgetting where I left it
Hubby suggested a piece of elastic
For the crutch that is, not the plate

Why dont you make your sandwich at the table in the kitchen
an sit an eat it there other than that dont know what to
suggest, other than get a maid
