I do wish Clive hadn't driven past our buyers house on Saturday - there is a 'For Sale' sign outside (for the 3rd time?) Tried to contact the agent to find out what's going on but no joy yet! Haven't slept much since then and feeling dreadful. Can't think of anything else and can't stop crying.

After nearly 3 months, we may have to put the house back on the market and start all over again. I'm devastated! We had the contracts signed, all searches and surveys done and have been all ready to go for the last 5 weeks too!

Oh big hugs Jane, how exasperating for you Sad I thought everything was fine after the contracts have been signed, surely they can't back out scratch The last time we bought a house was in 1978 so can't remember the procedure now and it's probably all changed anyway. Hope you have some contact soon to put your mind at rest.

Although the contracts are signed and with our purchaser's solicitors, it's only when contracts are formally exchanged you're safe unfortunately (then you have up to 6 weeks from exchange to complete the transaction).

However - there is some good news.
I emailed our agent with a list of questions I wanted firm answers to and not woolly excuses.

I think the 'SOLD stc' bit must have fallen off the board after the 2nd time of selling (which we eventually heard about) - so they're OK as are the ones below them - just the first time buyers at the bottom of the chain who are slow with their searches etc and not sure if their mortgage is agreed yet. Panic over and things looking a bit more secure again .......phew!

The agent is going to try to chase the agents handing the people at the bottom to move them along a bit - seems like the top 3 of us are all in the same boat - waiting and ready to go!

My strongly worded emails seemed to have worked. Very Happy Hopefully we are due to exchange contracts in just over 3 weeks on Thursday 15th September. cheers cheers cheers Who knows, we could be out of the house and may even be on our way by the end of October but perhaps that is too much to hope for. confused Just hope the next 3 weeks pass without a major hitch Basketball - its about time. drunken
