OMG !!!!!!!

We are due to exchange contracts on the house but received an email from our solicitor saying our purchasers solicitor wants a copy of the missing FENSA guarantee for windows fitted years ago. Thought it was a delaying tactic but they seem happy to proceed with the scanned proof that I have requested and paid for duplicates.

If it goes ahead tomorrow they have ask for a speedy completion.......................................... Friday 23rd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have pencilled the shippers in for one week today just in case.

So, after all the rollercoaster rides of recent months, we could be homeless by the end of next week and living out of a suitcase until we can book flights! My son is on holiday for a week so may camp out there for a few days then, who knows, its B&B at various friends until we leave.

Think I need a large drink to get over the shock

Its a good job I secretly didn't believe it as I got an email at 5.00pm to say

"I spoke with the purchasers solicitor earlier today to chase exchange however they have since discovered that the purchasers at the bottom of the chain only going into their solicitors at 6pm tomorrow to sign the contract documentation, which is needed before all parties in the chain can exchange. Therefore, exchange will be delayed until Monday.

The chain have agreed the 23rd September in principle however, as discussed yesterday, this date will not be binding until formal exchange of contracts on Monday".


So......... we've got a long, busy and frustrating weekend to look forwards to ......... hey ho

We're taking a chance and hopefully getting the shippers in next Wednesday (well, we haven't cancelled them or re-arranged the date yet).

Other stuff we are not taking will go on Thursday - if we can arrange collection. We'll stay at Iain's in Horsham for a few days and hand the keys over to the agent Friday lunchtime once the money for the sale is received. Will try to book a flight as soon as contracts are exchanged and we confirm the completion date - still hope to leave early October but who knows?

We will be living out of a suitcase till then so lots of clothes sorting, washing and ironing,dumping to do this weekend!

The cupboards, freezer and fridge are fairly bare so the diet is likely to suffer but hopefully it won't be for too long.

1. Went to Charlewood to drop of mower and some gardening stuff
2. Delivery to Crawley
3. Dropped off crate of food and cleaning materials to Iain in Horsham
4. Collected prescriptions from Tadworth
5. Garage lock-up keys returned to Redhill
6. Went to Croydon to fill out insurance documents and pay shippers - they arrive 7.30am Wednesday!
7. Walked to chemist to collect prescription

G&T and TV here I come - that's enough for one day.

HAHAHAHAHA my day was a bit like that myself but still have to drop Dulcie in CROYDON , but have been to Redhill , East Grinstead seen the removers , done shopping , and been on the fone for hours to the car insurance people !!! Rupe gets my car he buys me a Mcdonalds is that a fair swap ! hehheheheheh .... mums and there sons ......

Still haven't had that G&T or sat down but I have made a dozen scones and a chicken curry for tea!
