Oh Jane if you want to enlarge the page go up to 'Page' at the very top of your screen and pull down the menu
On there there is a zoom facility where you can enlarge the page on your screen
Seemingly the shortcut buttons I have been pushing are Ctrl+
How I am managing that without realising it is beyond me
