Evening ladies
Good evening, well enjoyed Moovision today and did at least manage to get Mike's Valentine card done, so not happy with it, so much so I'm not even going to bother photographing it
Had a go at making a never-ending card was easy but boy do I have problems with cutting things straight, think I must invest in a decent slider cutter or small guillotine, I'm using the large XCut one and it's just so clumsy to use, well unless it's me
Going to have an early night tonight I think, watch a bit of tv in bed.
QI is on later and cant miss that; I love it, not until watching it did I realise just how funny Stephen Fry is

Re: Evening ladies
Hope you enjoyed QI - I love Steven Fry too and especially enjoyed his USA documentary. Loved his series on ITV - hope it comes back.
Re: Evening ladies
I tried one out as well with some old card and peel offs just to see if it worked - or I had rememeberd right. Yes it was easy to do - I cut mine with a ruler and craft knife. I'm the same as you Jan can't cut straight with X cut or fiskars but I bought the trimmer Anne uses and it is brilliant. Mind you hers seems easier to use than mine - I have to stand up to get enough pressure on it.
Re: Evening ladies
Evening Jenny - we're just about to have our Sunday lunch here - roast chicken today.
I have a small rotary cutter but its gettinga bit blunt now - love my guillotine. Manage quite well with craft knives too as long as the blades are sharp and love my new Fiskers 'finger' craft knife.

Re: Evening ladies
When I say straight I mean more square, they look square until I put them on the card and then realise they aren't quite as I thought they were, oh well I will get there one day
Re: Evening ladies
I usually cut them straight but then don't get them on the cards straight I blame my glasses
Re: Evening ladies
Now that's a point had a reminder a couple of months ago but said I would wait until after my Paula Carr examination, that was a while ago now
Re: Evening ladies
Paula Carr examination ? he he
Jane that's the advantage of the Woodware one the blades never go blunt as you just change the rubbers, each pack has 2 rubber blades in and you get 4 uses out of each blade as you turn them around to maximise use

Re: Evening ladies
Well ..... I was busy doing some heat embossing and triple embossing at 3am one morning, you know that time of day when the brain doesn't work properly? Normally I emboss on one of those non-stick sheets on top of a glass heat board as you use in kitchens. I managed to get some of the melted embossing crystals all over my non-stick sheet and it was stuck so in order to get a clean surface quickly I turned it upside down .... yes I know my first blond act he he. After I had finished I decided to take the sheet off the glass, but it was nicely welded to it by now !! so carefully and slowly I peeled it off and took it to the kitchen ready to wash. Ok so far, then came my next brain f**t !!! why not clean the embossing stuff off the glass with ... alcohol based stamp cleaner !!!! so I happily poured it on !!! it didn't go in flames but it was about to ... with smoke coming off it I grabbed the still boiling hot glass and creapt to the kitchen with it hoping it wouldn't go up in flames nor shatter in my hands !!! phew a close one he he The only thing that went through my mind was "oh my god my papers and card " he he
I managed to cool it down with a sponge soaked in hot water so as not to shatter the glass. But, I won't use that to clean it again, well not while its still hot anyway he he
