Received this email this morning

Police rung me earlier and although they are treating it seriously they are arranging for the local community police officer to come round in the next couple of days to see me, it has been tagged for Special Branch to look into and a few other departments so I was told. He asked me if I could print out the email and I said was already done along with the info I found out for myself and he said I should be a police officer and I laughed and said must be in the blood my Grandad was a Policeman So until I hear from the local CPO their is nothing more to report

It's unlikely Jane but if they contact the phone company if it is coming from one of their phones they may well block the phone, here's hoping but the people doing this will just get another Sim card, wish it was more like the US here and everywhere I am sure they have to register with a phone company before they can even make a call on their mobile/cell phones.

The police have just been, a very nice young lady and she took all the details and copy of the email and the details I had managed to gather together myself and they are going to see what if anything they can do about it. I did say to her that normal begging letter spam I usually just delete but this was a bit more sinister and she said I did the right thing contacting them so if nothing else they are aware of the con and just the sort of depths these people are now willing to go to to try and fleece money out of people.

Glad they came to see you Jan. I was a bit worried about Ruth today as there was an armed robbery in Guildford High Street this morning. I phoned Ian but he said it is her day off today They arrested someone at the scene and got the others later in Dorking. Just looked at the news on the internet and it says they have been bailed until April 5th They come from London, I wonder if they will turn up

Yep does sort of bring back a bit of faith in the police force Jacky that they did actually come out, ok Jack could have been and gone in the time it took them but I guess they have more pressing things to get on with
