Morning...
Went to see Keith last night and he wasnt well. He is being sick, and as soon as they give him anti sickness tablets ... he is sick - so nothing is stopping down.
IT seems he is being told something different all the time. Yesterday morning it looked like the ribs were going to be wired... yesterday afternoon he was told that they didnt want to go down that road as it was major surgery and they were hoping that if they doubled up on his pain killers (the ones that are making him sick) the ribs would grind against each other and make a groove giving them a chance to knit. Last night after we got back Keith phoned to say that someone had been to see him ( I dont even know who.. he has had that many people to see him) and they have now told him that the wiring of the ribs wouldnt be done at Worksop, he would have to go to Sheffield.
Its a case of taking each day as it comes. The gentleman across from Keith is so poorly and spends his time praying.. I know I shouldnt but it upset me last night, Amy was so good and coped with it very well. Another chap who is so thin.. but still quite active was packing his bags... and going!! He went wandering off and much to his disgust when a nurse brought him back and told him to sit down - but he is definitely going home today!
I am not going tonight... Keiths sister is going. Amy has got a play on at school that she wants to go to and is having a friend for a sleep over.
I have got the children today... so that will keep me busy.
(I am sorry to rattle on, I know we all have problems in life - and these things are sent to try us )
Weather doesnt look too brilliant at the moment.. we have had more rain.
Have a lovely day

Re: Thursday
Good morning Karen and all those that follow.
So sorry to hear that Keith isn't sorted out yet and he's still feeling so poorly. It's so completely draining when a loved one is in hospital and I know it's easy said than done but try to keep your spirits up, he will get the treatment he needs its just hospitals tend not to rush themselves
Fingers crossed they start the correct treatment today and you great some good news when you ring Keith.
Work again today 8:30 till 7:30 just so busy at the moment, felt like it should have been a Friday when I got home last night so tired. Never mind only 2 more days to go then the weekend, I feel a bit of crafty shopping is needed
Take care to everyone especially the poorlies

I'm glad Amy is such a support for you and having the children will help to take your mind off things for a while. Sending hugs, love and prayers your way.

Good morning Karen, Di, Andrea, Jane(who snuck in will I was typing ) and all who follow
Looks glorious outside but must get some dreaded housework done today, Charlie is moulting and I have a hairy floor that really needs tackling and a sink full of washing up from last night, I had an excuse we ran out of washing up liquid, could have swore I had another one under the sink but have got that now and have put it in soak so will get to it once I have finished here
Sorry to see Keith is no better Karen and hopefully they will get him on the road to recovery very soon, and you have a moan or whatever you like thats what we are here for to and all need to vent or just get things off our chests sometimes Hope you enjoy Amy's play
Di tell that slave driver he is working you too hard and you need a break, I bet he isnt there until that time of night A good crafty spends sounds like a great idea
Some members have noticed a spammer on the forum I have checked all the permissions and guests should not be able to post so have asked on the forum host website for some advice so if you see anything that shouldnt be here could you let myself or Jacky know straight away please so we can sort it out, thanks
Have a great day all and I will get the stamped images off in the post today, sorry for the delay but to be perfectly honest I put them by the side of me near the computer and forgot all about them until last night, so apologises ladies but they will be out today
Take care all and stay safe xXx

Re: Thursday
Good morning Karen, Di, Andrea, Jane, Jan and all who follow - sun was out when I got up but clouds have built up now. Spending my time crafting today as I was given another card to make yesterday by my friend and realise I need to make one for the same lady as it's the one I go to U3A craft group with. I didnt know it was her birthday.
Karen - my heart goes out to you - feel free to vent everything on here, it really does help. Glad you have the children today to give you something else to focus on. Hugs to you and Amy and hope that the hospital soon decide what to do.
Di - dont work so hard, they never appreciate it. Sally has learnt that as she would work early morning til late at night at the beginning of each month trying to get all her work done - then they made someone redundant in her office so she had his work to do too. She realised that as long as she was doing the work they would keep piling more on so she has stopped doing it now.
Have a good day today all, whatever you are doing

Good Morning Girls , I really feel for you Karen , today is a new day so lets hope Keith is feeling a bit better or at least
not so sick , Iam sure you are getting disressed about all the conflicting ideas of treatment , don't worry (easier said than done ) someone is bound to make a decision soon .In the meanwhile hang on in there all of you. It's good to let of steam on here , thats what were here for ! hey girls??
Hope everyone else and ved ones are ok , spoke to Rupert this morning , he feels rugh but not s bad as yeturday , I suggested having a day from school ( worried about other kids ) but if he does'nt go he won't get his EMA money... for all those not in the know its Gordon Browns 's bribe money for keeping kids at school.... looks like ts doing the trick !
Iam not a panicer or any thing like that , but had several cases of Swine Flu at both the secondary schools and you can't help but wonder.Iam being very selfish for two reasons if Dulcie was to get it she has pretty poorhealth an I am
concerned about my chest.See told you I was being selfish ! Have a great day whatever you are doing , I am HOPEFULLY going to watch Dollies sports day . lexie

Sorry about dreadful typing did'nt have specs on ...still battling with a dodgy letter T
Re: Thursday
Morning ladies. Well summerhouse now has a new roof so everything in there should stay dry! It onlt took an hour and a half and that included a coffee break! Fortuantely I'd get up extra early as they arrived at 7.40! Still cost £250 Wish I could earn over £80 an hour! Think of all the crafty stuff I could buy! Sorry to hear Keith still poorly- can't they give him the painkillers intravenously as that should stop him being sick. I should ask.
I don't blame you being selfish Lexie - last thing you two need is swine flu. Hope you get slice to work soon.
Off to do food shop now - boring!! Looks like I might get wet though as gone very black outside!

Re: Thursday
Morning all,
this may be my last post until after the weekend as I have a very busy day ahead of me getting ready to go up to Stoke and see Shell!! Am soooo excited! I know they only came here in May!!
AWWWW KAREN.... you poor love, not only are you worried about Keith but it sounds like you have your hands full today too.... you must be drained. Hope you enjoy the play tonight and that Keith gets some treatment from the hospital, when at last they can decided on what they are gonna do. As for venting hun, its what we are here for xxx Have tonnes of hugs from me to see you over the weekend as I wont be around xxx ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((KAREN))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Lexie.... looking out for your family and your own health is NOT SELFISH hun, it is sensible. They have already been telling us that this blooming flu will only really severley affect those with existing conditions or compromised immune systems. I know there will always be the unlucky few who get it bad but you are right to be extra careful. I have immunity problems as my medication destroys my immune system so I am worried about it too x If there was even a sniff at my girls schools they would be off! Telling you that NOW!!!
Sue... glad the summerhouse roof is done, least you dont need to worry about that now!
Jacky.... have fun crafting..... I have posted all my cards out till the end of the month today so any of you who receive one.... Janet, Jacky, Jan and Jayne... don't you be going and opening em early! I am warning you!!!
Di..... ooooh don't work too hard hun x big hugs x
Jan... I know what you mean about moulting, it's driving me barmy! I cut Rolos coat last week as he was sweltering, but always just after i cut it he starts shedding the thicker fluffy stuff closer to his skin!!!

Re: Thursday
Good day to you ladies
Don't get to post often as by the time I get on to catch up most of you ladies have given up for the evening.
So today I have snuck on during my lunchbreak.
Karen really sorry to hear about Keith, it doesn't fill you with confidence when you can't get any straight answers.
If they come up with something definite soon I would request a meeting with the doctor and face him out.
Lou, hope you have a fab break up with Shell, at least it will be a weekend guaranteed to be full of laughter, which
does anyone good.
OH is still having problems, he had an ultrasound on Monday, which revealed he has an unusually inflamed kidney
(should be the size of a fist and is 25cms), so he is waiting for a call now to go and have a CT scan which will
confirm whether it is Cystic or Cancerous. We are quietly confident that it is Cystic as the doctor has said
that the liver and spleen are fine and with the size of it she would expect to see more impact if it were the other one.
Anyway, hopefully he gets the scan soon and they can then move forward with treatment. His family are a mess at
the moment, one sister has been referred to the spinal clinic for back probs, one was in hospital for heart tests and his
stepdad is in hospital as he is having difficulty eating and now has low sodium probs + dehydration. What a group!!
Must go and look up the number of the Craft Barn now as they haven't answered my e mail query and I want an response. It is unusual they are normally pretty good.
I will be posting my lovely swap card from Janet (Lady of Kent) later, she certainly has put me under pressure for my first entry.
Take care and hugs to all who need it.

Cheers Lou,
Life is rather strange at the moment, I have to say. BUT I am off for a flower punch class on Saturday morning
so that I can have a couple of hours of me time, probably won't be all that much of a chill time as we are making
orchids this time, which means a fair bit of colouring which is usually where in my mind it all goes wrong
Look forward to hearing about your fun time with photos of course upon your return.
Oh well time for a coffee and then back to the grindstone.

Oh Pat, what a family - hugs to you Hope the scan is good news, the doctors usually have a good feeling about these things.
Lou - with a daughter like mine you need a lot of patience only joking she is really very good but does some stupid things. I wrote last night on the Wednesday thread how she got locked out of her car Locked the car up with keys, phone etc all in the boot. The AA managed to get it open

Re: Thursday
Evening everyone. I took Kayleigh to the hospital this morning and they have finally removed her cast. She has to start physio next week and return to the consultant in 5 weeks to see if that has helped. He was a little concerned as some of her bone in her heal has been showing up really bright on the X-Ray and he now says it is dead bone and next time she has an X-ray he expects that to have crumbled up. Once he sees the X-rays on her next visit he will decide what to do (I'm sure he's thinking of operating but we will have to wait and see).
Have a good evening

Glad she has the cast off before the school holidays, but not good news about the bone crumbling - never heard of that before.
