That made me jump!
Just looked up to see a young man with a ladder outside my window. He obviously thought we were out and has just squeezed round the compost bin and sneaked round to paint the side of next door's extension - the front edge of which is 6" inside our boundary! Out plot is a lop-sided wedge shape (being near the corner of the road) and the fence line is not 90 degrees to the house but is about 100 instead hence the reason they've poached some of our land. At least its quiet!

Re: That made me jump!
What a cheek, you would think he would have had the decency to knock and check first
Re: That made me jump!
Flipping heck Jane, and in your boundary line I wouldnt have let them get away with that
Re: That made me jump!
Neither would I! It could cause all sorts of problems if you ever want to sell!

Boundaries not clearly marked on the plans (and ours are in the bank/solicitors somewhere). We put up a lattice fence on our side of the beech hedge which originally marked the boundary. What's left of the hedge varies in width and they took the fence as the marker(even though it had been pushed over a little) The extension begins at least 18" from the mark on the wall but as it get further out to the garden it gets nearer and nearer to our side.
Also the huge chestnut tree which was almost on the border when the house was built has such a huge girth now that they naturally assumed the whole tree was still theirs (which technically it is)
Not too worried about losing these few inches especially if we get a nice new fence out of it -which could happen next year!
