Re: my snowy garden!
Now you are just showing off as some of us still don't have proper snow, he he. It snowed for an hour at lunchtime today and then turned to rain Still I'm hoping for a serious fall overnight he he. Some people, mentioning no names sent me a text to let me know that they had snow ........ no idea who that was ........ but her name began with L and her last name begins with L !!!!! he he
Hope no-one suffers as a result of the snow and are able to enjoy it while we have it

Hmmmm she sent me a text too, full of joy My washing line has 4ins of snow on it and it is still coming down fast. Just went to take the dog out in the garden and it is so eerie out there, the silence. We don't realise that we can hear the M3 from our house until it stops for some reason.
Lovely photo Karen, must admit it does look pretty when it is newly laid.

Never Lexie, I still hate it. Just went by the back door to take a photo but my camera seized up Like to look at it in photos though
Re: my snowy garden!
I forgot to mention on the other thread - Tash is petrified of the snow this time he he. She watched it falling yesterday then bolted to hide under my bed and refuses to even look at it now, bless her he he.
Re: my snowy garden!
She's being really brave today - she's sat in the window looking at it he he. It must be so frustrating for her as she is a territorial cat and while she is sat indoors afraid of the snow other animals ... cats and birds ... are walking on her patch !!!! shock, horror. She will have a lot of territory reclaiming to do when this ice goes he he.
Re: my snowy garden!
Iam a real bird lover and we fed the birds well . they must have told here friends plenty of grub at 36.... had some lovely birds last few days x
Re: my snowy garden!
I love watching the little birds feed. Have put some 'fat balls' out and the birds love them. Keep filling up the water tray as well, but it keeps freezing over.

Re: my snowy garden!
I have been watching the birds today too, we had a wagtail (yellow), never seen one in our garden before Lots of tits, thrushes, robin, and blackbirds. At the end of our garden we have a small pond with netting over the top and a little waterfall at one end. The snow has settled on the netting and almost covered the waterfall apart from a small hole where the water comes out of the pump and the birds have been drinking from there as the bird bath is covered in snow. It's funny when you see them lining up too

I know what you mean about the bird queues, we have a stone quarter of a circle, (I think it was from a mill wheel) with a scooped out area, and the birds love it for bathing in the warmer weather. It's a large area but shallow, and they really go to town in it. Blackbirds must be the cleanest birds in the world, there is almost a constant queue hovering around it, but they wait patiently. The wood-pigeons like it too, but splash like mad, we have to refill it when they've been in! Lots of other birds go in less often, but it's lovely to watch them all. We get a lot of pleasure from our birds, roll on the Spring.

Re: my snowy garden!
Changing the bird water everyday has been me going out in the snow !! have to change the frozen water everyday as Baxter , for reasons known only to himself will only drink from the birds water so we keep 2 big ice cream tubs full of water one for Bax and one for the birds , they are really clever as each knows which is which !!! We have had a beautiful wood pecker he is lovely and getting a bit cheeky now !he sees off the squirrel At my old house which backed onto forest lands we had a lovely badger family and surprisingly not as many lovely birds.
