No snow overnight, but its snowing now.
Had rather an early morning call from my mum at 5.00... she didnt realise what time it was - I asked her if she was ok and tried to get back to sleep... unfortunately, I couldnt once I am awake thats it!!!
Amy school is open today, how many students get in remains to be seen. On the school website it has said that teachers are in due to exams on this week - and its up to the parents to get their kids to school. Amy has a Health and Social exam this afternoon.
Spent last night blowing up 40 plus balloons. Will hang them up outside my house and bring mum up later on! Also got some banners.
Think I better get on and make some sandwiches for Amy... the canteen may not open - so dont want her going hungry!!!
Enjoy your day xx

Morning Andrea,

Ooooer I always hate earl morning phone calls, you always think something is wrong dont you? Glad she is OK. Sounds like the place is gonna look a picture by the time your mum comes up later hun xx

I haven't slept a wink..... just phoned GP (well asked for em to call me back) to try and get some Diazepam on prescription as its the only thing that takes the edge off when my back is like this... I will be a total headcase if I don't get some sleep soon!

Kids school is still closed but hopefully we are thawing a little bit so maybe it will be open tomorrow...mind you I have just heard that we should expect snow tomorrow night so mabe it will only be open for one day!!!

Emily has only just gotten up, I had to get up before Ady went to work so he could guide me down the stairs..... gonna have to use the c******e when I need the loo today, just can't trust myself on the stairs....GGGRRRR!!!! Still.... needs must an all that!

Hope you are not too sore today Lexie.

Jane hope you are still improving hun x

Good morning Karen, Lou and all who follow. Oh bless her Karen, I bet your Mum was so excited about her birthday that she couldn't sleep Laughing Laughing Bet the house will look super. Sorry you didnt manage to sleep Lou, you could do with a stair lift on days like that Neutral More snow forecast for the west tomorrow night but they dont know how far east it will get, bet it gets to us. We had a lovely lunch yesterday, so nice to get out. 6 of us got a taxi and the roads were beginning to thaw out. When we went to bed last night it was snowing heavily again but obviously stopped just after as Molly's footprints were still visible this morning Very Happy Noticed that someone has cleared the snow off the road at the top of the hill yesterday too so that must be a great help to the people living up there Very Happy No plans for today as yet, take care if you are out and about Very Happy Hugs for those who need them today, and a gentle one for you Lou Very Happy

How frustrating Juli - hope the bus gets through. No more snow here thankfully and even thawing a little but at least the main roads are clear.

Hope the party goes well Karen and that Lou and Lexie are OK today. I made it to the shops on foot for the first time this year. I clung onto Clive's arm and the round trip took nearly an hour rather than 20 minutes but at least I can now manage 1/2 mile. Bit tired and achy now so off to get an ice pack and sit with my leg up all afternoon.

Made a huge pot of mince last night so its shepherd's pie for lunch, chilli tomorrow and spag bol the day after. Managed to get a few bits in the Co-op broccoli, sprouts and tomatoes today.

Also posted the card swap and video (both 2nd class)

Well done Jane, thats real progress, just dont overdo it hun x Says the silly moo who shouldn't be preaching to anyone about overdoing things LOL

Have heard back from the doc, he has issued a prescription but I cannot get the pills till Ady gets home from work.... stupid really as the chemist is only up my road, as is my doctors..... but I can't walk more than 10 steps or so so I aint got a chance of getting them. My chemist doesn't do a delivery service either Sad So will have to wait till about 5.10pm... my dad is out so can't ask him, the roads are still bad so wouldn't dream of asking my mates, so I am stuck till Ady gets home unfortunately.

Have spoken to 3 people on the phone today and burst into tears each time, I am not handling this very well at all Sad

Am waffling now...... gonna go have a lie down, I know I wont sleep but at least it'll be quiet and I won't have to watch the kids crap on TV! ... may get on later x I'll see x

Oh Lou I am sure a friend would be only too happy to help you out when you are in so much pain. I would be very angry with you if I lived near you and you didnt ask a favour. Everyone who knows you would know that you wouldnt ask them if you weren't desperate. Bigs hugs to you and hope you get them very soon. Very Happy Glad you are improving Jane, but take notice of what happens if you overdo things silent will say no more Rolling Eyes Lexie, hope you are feeling a little less tender today too Very Happy Juli, I can't believe the school is being so hard on the children. They are under enough pressure taking exams Mad No wonder you are annoyed

Oh Lou, it all seems to happening love. Hope you get those pain killers soon and a good night's sleep too. It's not like you to be so 'down' but totally understandable. I'm sure one of your friends could help out if you phoned. You do so much for others it's not much to ask. Loved all those cards you posted on your blog - that old bear has lasted well!

My leg feels OK after the rest and icepack but I promise I won't overdo it. Seeing the Osteopath for a final session tomorrow and at least I now know my limitations. Still got to make Emily's card but all the forum ones are done for now and the video has been posted.

18/22 things ticked on the check list. Got rid of the greying roots last night and standing by with the Immac if my friendly beautician can't get through on Thursday for my leg wax! Cases are loosly packed and still space and spare weight left for 'extras'. Still can't decide what to travel in as I'd look a bit stupid arriving in 42 degrees wearing (amongst other things) fur hat, Ugg boots and thick cardi! Woolly socks with Crocs may not be very attractive but at least I could take the socks off before I arrive and they would fit in the hand luggage. The cardi is very soft and folds up quite small too, so perhaps I'll give the fur hat a miss this time.

Hi all,

Thanks for the support, I promise I will get myself out of this very soon..... I don't like being a whinger... Sad

Not long now till Ady will be home with them Diazepam, I just hope they work, even if they just take the edge off it will be something. Smile

Guess what I ended up doing this afternoon then? Yes, you got it, more pain relief ... in the form of 7 new cards! Will put em in the gallery! Can you have a look and tell me whether pain is good or bad for my creative flair!!! Would be interesting to know!

I tried to have a sleep but couldn't even get comfortable so I gave up and headed to the craft table!

Glad you are OK Lexie, think of the benefits long term hun, it will all be worth it x

Oh dear, pain and suffering one way and another today, I am so sorry to hear it. Sad I hope tomorrow is better for everyone, there's just no getting away from pain, so pop the pills if you need them and fingers crossed. Lexie sounds as bright as ever, Smile and that isn't easy when you aren't as well as usual, and TRAPPED INDOORS with the snow. Sorry, hmmmm hmmmm, just doing my chanting to calm me down, although comparatively speaking my niggles are petty.
I've just got back from the post office, I haven't been out for days, and I thought things would have improved - but they haven't. Shocked It's incredible, we've been stuck for over a week now, and there are hardly any tyre marks in driveways, pavements are still inches thick with snow, everyone must be hibernating. Surprised Usually workers, who have to try to make it in to work, eventually clear the way for the rest of us. Ah! Just had a thought, this is an area with a high 'teacher population', so that explains it, what a difference it makes now they close the schools for snow.
Hope things get brighter for everyone, have fun with your plans, and take care.

Made a start on Emily's card then decided to get my blog up to date before we leave. By the time I'd done that and caught up on various forum posts the afternoon seems to have disappeared and its time to cook the supper (the Cottage/Shepherd's pie at lunch time went down well) and we've got salmon with pasta, broccoli and roast peppers tonight.

Need an early night as Clive is back at work and that means I'm awake just after 6.00. Got used to sleeping till at least 7.30 during the last month or so and then didn't bother to get up till nearer 10. I think today's walk tired me out - all that fresh air - I'm not used to it!
