Lost 2 1/2lbs at weigh in last night so all that extrra effort was worth it!
Working in the nursery school from 10 to 12.30 this morning so must dash. I'll vote on the way.

Re: Thursday morning and almost the weekend :o)
Got a letter thru from the school yesterday afternoon confirming that the unions are going ahead with the strike to boycott the Year 6 SATS tests. So that means Georgia and her mates have been doing mock exams for weeks and now all the work they are doing wont stand for much!
Still I do stand by the headteachers and teachers and unions with this one, the pressure the kids are under is horrendous... Georgia said they have been doing mental maths tests and challenges everyday for a month Her class teacher has said that he will fill in an appraisal to go onto her secondary school but although they have done the build up work the 'SATS' work will still be done but marked by their class teachers .... and not under EXAM CONDITIONS.....
Georgia is absolutely shattered at the moment, they are working them like slaves! The only relief that is as they are doing so much in class time they are not having any homework to contend with... thank god for that! IN the playground in the morning all the years 3,4 & 5 are hairing about like looneys and the Year 6's look asleep on their feet! Poor kids! At least after the end of next week they get a fun week, they go swimming and down the local park for a picnic, do cooking and then a day trip to Marwell Zoo which they are all looking forward to. We paid £23 for the fun week to go ahead coz the kids really deserve the break x Then the week after that we are on holiday (hopefully )

Re: Thursday morning and almost the weekend :o)
What I wanna know with this voting lark is why the polling station for me is nearly a mile away (we don't drive) when there is also a polling station not 50 yards down the road by the girls school!!!
Re: Thursday morning and almost the weekend :o)
Hehe... maybe I should go armed with an agenda when I go to vote....
My agenda would be...
1) Why the hell send us letters if our kids are a bit overweight when you all keep bleating how dangerous it is re eating disorders etc to make our kids too aware of body size and type.... and also be stupid enough to send us these letters before puberty has even started in most of the cases!
2) Why the hell has it taken so long to give us an answer with regards to the boycotting of SATS tests.....and make our kids go thru hell preparing if they are not gonna sit the bloody things anyways!
3) Why disabled residents are sent to the furthest polling station in the area!!!
If any of the representatives are there..... if they give good honest answers they will get my vote!!!

Well Lou you won't be voting then! The person I voted for ....1.Is a woman 2.And my main reason ... a few weeks ago when I saw her she had a lovely bright necklace on !!! 3.She has a nice open face and a lovely real smile .
Oh yes !!! AND i can't stand that fat slob Nicholas Soames..... and Nick Clegg is alright !

Re: Thursday morning and almost the weekend :o)
Was hoping for some non election talk on here but sadly not, it is driving me up the blooming wall, fed up to the back teeth with it all.....Jeff at work today was walking around with a loony party rosette on maybe he has the right idea
Re: Thursday morning and almost the weekend :o)
Evening all. Hope y'all keeping well - those that are under the weather, hope your on the mend soon.
Was a little disappointed with the ballot papers - I remember them being yards long with umpteen candidates - only two for the local and four for the parliamentary! Where was the Monster Raving Looney Party? Amazing to see the turnout though - don't think I've ever seen so many people in (or on their way to/from) the polling station. Have to agree with you, Lou, that none of them are worth voting for (and you won't hear owt from 'em 'til they want you to re-elect them in however many years time, unless they're caught buying more floating duck houses or cleaning of the moat [note to self, must book the moat cleaner] out of the public purse), but we're fortunate enough to live in a democracy and I had to exercise my democratic right! Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now.

Where you been lurking then Kevin thought you'd run away , screaming ! Nice to hear from you , must clean my moat too, the chains on the draw bridge could do with an oil tooo !
Re: Thursday morning and almost the weekend :o)
Nah, still knocking about! Still really busy at work and had a run on birthdays (mostly big ones - don't know what that is about years ending with a zero, but it must be a good 'un coz it's a big one for me this year!). For some reason, I've also found that, even though when I log in I say remember me, the forum seems to forget! Then I have to remember the username and the password (of which, I seem to have millions!).
Ah, thanks for reminding me about oiling the chains - I wondered what the clanking was when the drawbridge went down/up!
