Good morning ladies some schools closed here today so of to `sit` some of the grandkids we are taking them to Whitstable castle Have a lovely day girls and gentle hugs to all
Re: Thursday
Good morning ladies.
Janet, do hope you have a nice day at the castle, that the weather is good for you and so are the children
Although we have been told on the news that the teachers are striking today, here in Norfolk suddenly they aren't striking but the children are being given the day off to go to the Norfolk Show ! so don't know which is the truth.
My eldest daughter and her friend are on their way to Wembley today, they are going to see Take That, then they are staying overnight and coming back tomorrow, she said "I will be round on Friday afternoon to tell you all about it", lol oh I can't wait lol But my son in law is coming as well to do a little job in the garden for me, so I shall listen to every word
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday with a forum friend, (another forum) and its lovely to put a face to a name isn't it?
Think I am going to take a few crafty things outside today and try and make a card out there. I have no housework to do, no washing and its too nice a day to sit inside.
Hope you all have a good day

Re: Thursday
Good morning Janet, Marion and all who follow Had a go at doing the weeding yesterday afternoon when we got home, can't believe how things have grown in a week, and Martin cut the lawn again. Got the washing machine on now, Martin has gone into school but the teachers aren't in so not a lot of work for him to do. He has to go back to the dentist again this afternoon as the crown they replaced the day before we went away came off again last night
Neil Diamond was absolutely fantastic, I enjoyed Cliff Richard but this was really something else - he is such a great performer and puts so much feeling into his songs on stage and with no break in the middle. The lady next too me was in floods of tears during the second song, her friend held her hand and asked if she was ok and she nodded but I think she was so emotional that the song must have meant a lot to her as she was alright for a while and certain songs set her off again.
Enjoy your day with the grandchildren Janet Hope your daughter enjoys Take That - they were on in Birmingham the same time as Neil - was it a difficult choice - NO Although the tickets were much cheaper for Take That apparently. Enjoy your crafting Marion.
I am out for lunch today with my old workmates

Morning ladies. I've been shortening jeans again- the same pair - apparently I didn't take enough off - hope they're not too short now Got the dentist this afternoon and the hygienist tomorrow. Originally they were one after the other but hygienist had to cancel as she has had to take the day off as her child's school is on strike
Glad you enjoyed the concert Jacky.
Janet enjoy your day with the grandkids.

The way we were - not very exciting but perfectly adequate and sound!

Great kerb appeal......... and we have a viewing later today

Any ideas why it doesn't start at the driveway but at least a foot in?

we may be on speaking terms .... just....... but I AM NOT HAPPY, would you be?

Re: Thursday
I can see why your not happy but I would ask the builder why he has stopped short of the driveway but looks like the old wall didn't actually meet either but that might just be the angle of the photo
Re: Thursday
The old end brick on the photo had been broken off but the foundations went right up to the pavers (just got earth over them)!
Re: Thursday
Evidentally it had to be a foot short so that the wrought iron panels would fit in between each column of bricks!
I really don't care anymore - I had lost the will to live until a nice young couple turned up for the viewing. Delayed by a traffic jam on the M25 on the way back from work and sooooooo appologetic. Stayed for 40 minutes and the most positive viewing so far - cross everything and say a prayer for us. The day just got a whole lot better!

Re: Thursday
Fingers crossed for you Jane and the wrought iron panels will be better than plain brick so the plants should get some light.
Re: Thursday
Will probably be a very nice wall - just not my choice and I could have spent the money on something we really needed when we got to Oz!
Still, its done now and I'm looking on the bright side. The agent called this morning to say that lovely couple put in an offer which was very close to our expectations so we've accepted it.

Re: Thursday
Brilliant news Jane. Have they got property to sell or can things go ahead now. How exciting.
