Poppytree (Jane) update
Just to let you all know Jane is on her way to Australia to start her new life. She sent me a message via Facebook to ask me to let you all know - at the moment she is in Hong Kong for a couple more hours but she couldn't get on the forum from the Airport. She will be back on here when she gets to Adelaide - look forward to all the news
Re: Poppytree (Jane) update
...... and here she is, cold (16 degrees and raining!) tired (after only 14 hours total sleep since Saturday/Sunday and 8 of those were last night!) and a little jet-lagged.... but, happy with my lovely family and. now we've hit the ground running, ready for action (not crafting sadly but I'll be back in the swing of things by Christmas once we have a house and the contents of my craft room have arrived).
After a frantic fortnight of packing up, parties, goodbyes, house and car selling, staying with friends and living out of a suitcase........ WE HAVE SET FOOT IN THE PROMISED LAND. We arrived yesterday on the 5th anniversary of my daughter's arrival and are happily settling into our new life in Adelaide.
Off to sort out Bank, Tax, Medicare, Seniors Card etc in the next few days and have already planned a few 'opens' for the weekend! The adventure has begun (shame we left 30 degrees and blue skies in Surrey and arrived to 16 and rain in Australia)
Can't believe we're finally here (probably never to return to the UK) and living the dream.

Have put an offer in on this one http://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-sa-aberfoyle+park-108246481
lots of other people interested but we're top of the list.................fingers crossed and lots of prayer needed! Our names are on this one - even the 2 smaller bedrooms belong to Sophie and Emily - how weird is that?

Re: Poppytree (Jane) update
Yes, fingers crossed from me as well Jane. I have just been reading through your posts, its so interesting keeping up with it all. I do so love those covered areas they have outside in Australia. t seems that the houses there are selling a lot quicker than the houses here.

Re: Poppytree (Jane) update
We are due to meet 'Henry' tomorrow who is doing the survey on our house during the 'cooling down' period.
Provided everything is OK we have 48 hours to arrange a deposit and then exchange contracts (they are already signed by all parties)
Hopefully we can relax for a few weeks until completion around the 18th November. Planning a short break in the lovely Victor Harbor with some penguin and whale watching at the end of the month. We are staying at a B&B run by a famous Australian Wildlife artist and have got a great midweek deal (around £250 for 4 nights for the two of us) Lots of home produce and they tend to fill the fridge so you generally have enough to make yourself either a packed lunch or tea.
