Good Monday morning :)
Hi there everyone,
I've not been a member long, so hope that it's ok to start a morning thread. I've been awake over night with this cough/ virus which simply refuses to go and now my DS has it too, poor chap, I feel very guilty having breathed my germs on everyone, presumably the whole family will be coughing and spluttering at some point...
Have a good day everyone, but if you can't, here's a nice big hug to help you along. I have got loads that needs doing but it looks like Calpol all round and a very low key affair type of day instead.
Take care
Lavender

Morning!
Doesnt seem too bad here at the moment... and its mild out as well.
Amy has just gone off to school with 3 big bags, cookery stuff in one, PE Kit in another and then the last bag is her school bag! I certainly didnt have to take the stuff that she takes. In years to come kids all over the country will be suffering with bad backs.
Well off into town to get a new iron!!! exciting day
Hope you all have as an exciting day as me
See you later, have fun

Re: Good Monday morning :)
Hi Lavender
Sorry to hear you are under the weather - viruses are a pain in more ways than one! I've managed to escape the coughs and colds so far but its not winter yet. (my leg still stings though and I'm wondering when/if it will ever heal up.) Really miss my swimming and looks like it will be yet another 2 weeks before I go again.
Hope Jayne is feeling better too.
Hugs all round!

Re: Good Monday morning :)
Morning ladies. Gray and damp here. Got back from visiting my son in Bristol and Roy's daughter in Cheltenham last night. His navigation skills are non-existent! Mind you google routes weren't as good as they could be. They didn't put all the roundabouts in! So went the wrong way twice in Bristol and twice in Cheltenham. I want a satnav for Christmas before I take him anywhere else that I don't know! Unfortunately he doesn't drive so I have to do it all. None of it helped by the fact that I wasn't feeling quite right - tummy was a bit funny and a bit headachy but nothing specific. Still don't feel quite right and very tired so going to have a quiet day apart from a bit of food shopping.
Re: Good Monday morning :)
We were in Bristol last year Sue and even when your both on the ball and feeling fine it is still a nightmare place to navigate, 2 hiccups wasn't bad at all not saying how many times we went down the same round, at one point all roads seem to lead the same way
Re: Good Monday morning :)
Morning Jan and Sue, I do hope you feel better soon Sue, is the sun out your way Jan it is a little on hazy side but trying to come out lvJanetx
Re: Good Monday morning :)
Morning Janet blue sky with a few white fluffy clouds but still quite warm
Re: Good Monday morning :)
Morning ladies
Lavender its fine to start a thread hun, feel free to do so whenever the urge gets you he he. Sorry you are still not feeling well and on top of that the little one has it too make sure you have as quiet a day today as you can :hugs
Jayne, good luck with the car retest hun
Sue I know how you must have felt in Bristol, the AA route maps, RAC route maps and SatNav all get it wrong around Bristol and Bath, we've tried all 3 over the summer period and none of them gave the same route plan for the same place. They missed out roundabouts, some missed out turnings on roundabouts and some got the distance way wrong. We ended up following road signs to get us in the right compass direction at least he he
Its a grey drizzling day here today, and I had to go out in it to get my bloods done. Have to go back on Thurs at 8.30am as they forgot to tell me they had added a cholesterol and sugars element to it and I hadn't done the starvation part, doh. Never mind bloods early Thurs morn then dentist in the afternoon, might as well have a medical week save ffaffing every week with something he he he he
Hope you all have a good crafting day

Re: Good Monday morning :)
Afternoon everyone. Sorry to hear you are suffering Lavender My daughter lost her voice the day before yesterday, but seems to have it back again this morning. Hope your car passes its test Jayne. I know what you mean about the roads in Cheltenham Sue. I lived there until I got married, all my family still live there so we go often but they keep changing the one-way system so the sat nav hasnt a chance. I went to pick up my daughter from a friends house and was confronted with bollards closing off the road, so carried on past and went down the next road. Found it ok but coming back ended up the other side of the bollards The house where Martin lived was bought by the council to widen the road when he was 18 - they knocked it down last year when he was 60??? It was boarded up until then Weather here this morning was ok when we got up and then we set off for our U3A walking group for the first 5 mile walk and when we got there it was mizzling We set off at quite a quick pace but slowed down a little later so managed ok but the weather brightened up and raincoats came off Lovely lunch in the pub when we got back too
Re: Good Monday morning :)
Hope you all had a good day (and the car passed its MOT)
Made a couple of French Knitting necklaces and some ATCs for Oz (the 4 seasons) Just the London ones to do then I can send them off and get back to CC swaps.

Bet that was the one we drove up and down- Bradley Stoke Way! Mind you if he had listened to me saying the signpost says M5 that's what we want we wouldn't have gone up and down quite so many times!
Glad it's not just us with problems. In Cheltenham we ended up in a car park and then got Fiona to guide us by phone! Still managed to miss one turning though!

Re: Good Monday morning :)
I like the ATCs - I haven't started making those - there's always too much else to do.
I know what you mean about Bristol - my sister lives there and it seemed at one point that every time we visited, they'd put in another roundabout between her and the M4. It doesn't help that if we follow my brother-in-law, he takes all the back-doubles just for the sheer fun of it. I've followed him with the Sat-Nav on and at least half the junctions, the Sat-Nav said go this way and he went that way instead!
I spent most of my spare time last week making a
card for my mum (Rose) - it's her birthday tomorrow and I started playing with the
Flower Fairies stamps I got last week.
(Clicking on the pictures should get you to larger piccies in PhotoBucket.)

Re: Good Monday morning :)
What lovely ATCs Jane, I love them
And Ann your cards are beautiful, they will be loved to bits by their recipients
As for Bristol... it's a family joke that I drove everyone round there for 2 hours without being able to find the way out lol... the lack of road signs was staggering... lol.

Great ATCs Jane and lovely cards Ann, I'm sure your mum will be very pleased
Re: Good Monday morning :)
Lovely card Ann. I'm sure your mum will love it.
Only ever been around the outskirts of Bristol but that was bad enough with all the roundabouts - I think Millton Keynes is harder even though its a much smaller place. I've always managed to get lost there and I'm usually a good map reader!
