Lovely day here today still white and frosty though. Happy Valentines day to you all Had a lovely valentines card from Martin - I will show you later Yesterday I sorted out all my A4 card into seperate colours. The 12 x 12 are all in seperate boxes in colours but my A4 card was in one big box and a couple of drawers. I have emptied out all the other drawers in the units 12 in all, and labelled them with colours. Now I can get to all the card easily. I have also bought a couple of shelve units to replace the two I have. These have got adjustable shelves and can also add more shelves so hopefully will be able to tidy them up now. My old ones will go into Martins office/music room. They are big but the sides are open and the pillars holding the shelves just get in the way. Now I just have to empty them and get Martin to build the others Busy day today

Good morning everyone. The Ex is supposed to come today to take my middle one out to get her birthday present (birthday was Boxing Day) but I bet once again he doesn't show so I will be in for a grotty weekend. ( I wish he wouldn't keep promising her he would come and then not show up. I'd rather he just let me know or just turn up) OK rant over.

I hope poorly people feel a bit better today.

Oh Frances, that is a terrible thing to do to a child Martin's father used to promise Ian things when he was little and then not go through with it. He would watch him playing with his lego and say he would take him to the shops and get him some more but it never happened. Ian still remembers it now and he was only about 4 years old He always sounded so generous making all these promised

Morning ladies. A beautiful sunny, frosty day here. Finally got my valentine roses after shop tried to deliver me someone else's first!


Am I a true crafter now? The paper they were wrapped in was shiny with dark roses all over it so I have cut off the good bits as I thought it would make a nice backing paper on white card as it is slightly see through. Or am I just mean?

Also a poem by text (but apparently it's in the Daily Telegraph so he can't take credit for it.)

"Roses are red, they grow with great slowness, I just don't deserve you, much like my bonus!"

Thought it was good especially as he probably won't get one again this year!

So not a nice thing to do to a child Frances, my ex promised my daughter the world to come back to England so he wouldn't be on his own and then when she did he had moved in with his girlfriend and her son and didnt want to know our daughter, but was no use me complaining or saying anything she had to learn what he was like for herself
Nothing planned for today except a walk at some point to clear the cobwebs out and going to cook a nice dinner this evening, not sure what yet but will think of something

Tonight will be a cook your own dinner Ian & Ruth bought us, for Christmas, a slab of stone on a stand with burners underneath. We havent used it yet but are planning on using it next week for Ians birthday dinner so thought we would practice on Valentines Day. You have to heat the stone in a very hot oven then put it on the burners and cook your pieces of steak or chicken etc on the hot stone at the table. Martin goes to a restaurant in Spain when he is golfing where they have them and is always going on about it that's why we got it for Christmas Apparently they cost the earth

I was watching Come Dine With Me the other day and a woman cooked some lamb I think it was on this piece of wood in the oven, she seasoned the wood with herbs, oil and seasoning first and left it to stand and infuse and then put it in the oven to heat up before putting the meat on it. Hope your meal goes well Jacky and remember your oven gloves

Steak, baked potato and salad for us tonight and I'm not cooking. I never cook steak - always overdo it!

I like my steak cremated, cant abide raw meat. I have no idea how people can eat meat with blood running from it still

Just looked at my bed - think I better go get the things I dumped in there onto the shelves too Lots of fiddly bits which need sorting - that will keep me busy. I still can't see my work surface either
