Good morning all, miserable day here this morning. Was supposed to go on our walk but have had a headache since 4.00 this morning. Going off now but also have a slight eye infection so everytime I blink it films over so difficult to read. Will go down to the chemist later and get some drops, have used any eye wash this morning which helped for a little while. Hoping my memory comes today
Happy birthday to your daughter Jan, hope the day goes well for you all and so glad Jayne is improving Enjoy your walk Frances hope you learn a lot Hope the hydro helps Lou, hugs for you Janet, enjoy yourself whatever you are doing today and take care

Re: Tuesday
Morning...
Well... the scan went ok yesterday - went to see mum yesterday afternoon and the Dr said that there was nothing untoward there. Which was a great relief, especially as the Dr said on the saturday when I mentioned Mum had had a mastectomy, her reply was that it could be the cancer back in her brain. Mum is still very confused, and at first didnt recognise us yesterday. But she is a lot brighter, laughing again which is nice to see - some of the things that she says are really funny and if I didnt laugh - I would cry.
One of mum's friends is taking me this afternoon, Keith is still not 100% and its tires him out as well.
Enjoy your day

Now I would be very interested to know where to buy one of thoseCraftworker wrote: Hoping my memory comes today
It is alright Jacky, I know you are talking about your pooter
I have never heard you complain about headaches before! If that persists you get straight to the doctor woman
Yes, you are nag target today
So pleased to hear that the scan was clear Karen
Please, for your own sanity, continue to laugh.
I am sure your Mum would understand
I have nursed 3 very close relatives and if I hadn't laughed I would not have survived
It is a very good coping mechanism
Heart goes out to you dear from what I can see from your postings your hubby doesn't sound too welll either
It is not easy trying to cope with more than one person being ill
Oh Francis, I do envy you
I adore local history and used to love doing the rounds with the kids at school
Happy days with very happy memories
I am sure your daughter will not forget this birthday in a hurry Jan
Happy Birthday to her
It must have been so alien for you to have bought her a card
I can just never get over the price of them
Well I actually managed to have a good night's sleep
Am very hurt over a family situation (extended family) but you live and learn
Woke up at 10.30 and had a bit of a panic when I saw the time in case I had missed a delivery
But happy to say there are no 'missed delivery' cards through the door
Just a case of waiting for the deliveries now
Daren't risk time in the craft room as I might miss the front door bell
But ever resourceful I have brought in a load of files of odd bits of paper that need sorting out
So that is my task for the day
Unless the discs come then it will be...................
All the best to everyone and I hope things only get better for us all
Re: Tuesday
Afternoon ladies. Done the food shopping this morning which I was going to do yesterday but instead spent it house sitting for Roy till the gas man came. His header tank was dripping from the overflow and keeping his downstairs neighbours awake I rang British Gas for him yesterday morning and they came in the afternoon and did the annual service as well (which was 6 months overdue!)
Just off now to phone drs for an appointment. Seem to have developed "cold weather eczema" and the itching is driving me mad

Re: Tuesday
Karen, I am so glad for you that the scan was ok Big hugs to you Keith and Amy too Still have a slight headache, I am sure if I took a paracetamol it would go but I try and do without. I think I have found out why though, a friend gave me a bowl of hyacinths and the smell of them is permeating all over the house - I love the smell but think that is what is causing the headaches as it starts my sinuses off. I can't have lilies in the house for that reasons either. We went to a resturant for Sally's 21st birthday and there were 3 vases full of lillies near us - before I had finished my started I had a headache and by the time the lobster thermador main came I was in the loo being very sick with a real thumping headache. Martin had to take me home and then come back to finish his The hyacinths have now gone outside unfortunately.
Sue, hope you get some relief from the doctor for your eczema
My memory came, and Martin has put it in my new computer and it works Now all he needs to do is put all the programmes on but he has had to go to the school for a meeting this afternoon

Re: Tuesday
I am so pleased you now have a memory Jacky
And that it works
I hope that have all the bits and pieces for your programs
I am still in the doghouse with Alan for losing the reg number for Paint Shop Pro
Although I still have to have a look in the CRaft room to see of I have the handbook in there and hopefully the Reg number will be on that
Lillies are a very strong flower and one that I am not keen on having in the house myself. Whenever I order a bouquet of flowers for anyone I always make a point of asking for them to be left out. I had a very bad emotional experience with them one time and the strong smell just brings it all back although I do love them I prefer to have them in the garden.
Hopefully that was the cause as hyacinths do tend to permeate too
Oh Sue, eczema is such a demanding problem
I swear that the hard water down here has a lot to do with the skin problems
I never had dry skin until I moved here
I know that Alan's hands are a mess just now as well because of the cold
And miracle of miracles he has actually made an appointment with the doctor on Friday for that and stabbing pains that he keeps getting in his heel
Well still no delivery
But my files are nearly sorted
And Jimmy has been not too bad today
Alan bought me a new magazine, he felt sorry for me not getting to the Crafty Cow, at the weekend and I am going to have a cup of coffee and a play with it
Yes I did say play.
I have never heard of it before
It is a monthly mag that has a free CD with it every month
It must be relatively new as it is only edition 21 and to be honest it does look very promising
It is called Complete Cardmaking
He has promised me a subscription if I like it so have been saving it until I was feeling good enough to give it a real once over
Will let you all know what I think of this month but if anyone else has had it before please let me know what you think

Re: Tuesday
Just got back and feeling really low - Mum isnt good at all today. She was asleep when we got there and was really quiet whilst we were there. I know she will have good days and bad, yesterday was good but today not so good. She is booked for an MRI for Thursday. I feel guilty but I dont think I will be going in tomorrow... another one of her friends is visiting.
Thank you for your kind words xx

Re: Tuesday
Karen please don't feel guilty about not visiting every day, you need the break or else it will get too much for you - you have had so much to deal with lately - sending you big hugs and after all she is having a visitor
Re: Tuesday
Oh Karen
Please do not feel guilty
There is only so much you can do my dear
And Mum will have a visitor tomorrow
Hopspital visiting is very tiring and a huge strain, mentally and physically
You really need to take time out for yourself
I don't know how ill your poor husband is but remember it all puts so muchmore added strain on
I honestly have been there my dear and the one thing that helped me was my local
priest seriously asking me if I thought I was Superwoman
I very indignantly answered no and he said that only Superwoman could keep going at the rate that I was and to slow down
You really must look after yourself dear, you are no use to anyone if you are ill
So look on tomorrow as time to get your energy stores back
Pamper yourself, even if it means just soaking in the bath for a while. Watching a really good DVD with the family and of course a bar of chocolate each
You will be amazed at how much more you can face things
Heart goes out to you dear
BIG hugs

I am learning something new all the time Jacky, and to think I use to think my mum was behind the times and thought I would never be like that just goes to show, I remember my first text to my son on a mobile i couldnt find the button to make the spaces and the best part he was driving at the time and got his `mate` to read it
Re: Tuesday
Think I have had my mobile about a year maybe more and only the other day while messing around with it realised I can can take 4 pictures in quick succession, also it does panoramic piccies as well, didnt have a clue
