Friday the thirteenth!!

Morning...

It started off dull here earlier, but its starting to brighten up.
Amy got up this morning feeling rough, full of cold and sore throat. Felt horrible saying she had to go to work, but she went in armed with Buttercup syrup/paracetamols/cough sweets. Trouble is first week = first impressions. Anyway.. had a phone call from Amy saying they are sending her home.
Hopefully she can go to bed and have a couple of hours sleep.
Better go, take care.... no walking under any ladders!

Good afternoon ladies.

I didn't realise it was the 13th today, must be careful when I nip into Tesco. Sorry to hear Amy is being sent home, but the sooner she gets over it the sooner she can go back. Make her go to bed and sweat it out.

I was going to drive to Bury St Edmunds today, well last night I was thinking this, then this morning I woke up, more coughing, and thought blow it, will stop at home. I can't wait for Monday when I can see the doctor about it. I feel every day its drawing me down more.

It seems to have gone very quiet in here at the moment, I wonder where everyone is?

I'm here Marion - just late!! Hope your cough improves soon - they really can be very wearing!! As for Friday 13th - I always think of it as lucky as I passed my driving test on that date Off up tp Roy's later , collecting fish and chips on way so will then feel guilty about eating them as I'm supposed to be watching diet. Still I never eat all the batter and we share a portion of chips so maybe I shouldn't feel too guilty.

Marion... soon be Monday, this has gone on long enough for you hasnt it. Not pleasant at all.
Amy got home 10.30 and went straight to bed, she has just got up, but has had a good sleep. Her throat is nasty, keep her dosed up with tablets and throat sweets and hopefully be better by Sunday.
Court case has been postponed 'until further notice'... had a feeling it would be.
The sun is out, but its still cold.

Good evening all - sorry for being AWOL. Spent the day sorting out the garden. Trying to get rid of brambles coming under the fence and re-rooting our side. We have dug them up so many times but this time we have cut them back a bit and sprayed them with a root killer. Keeping our fingers crossed. Had some bad news from my BIL this morning. Found out the results of his scan and the chemotherapy is keeping the cancer the same but its not reducing it so they won't ever be able to take away part of his liver. He has been told that he will have to have chemotherapy every 2 weeks for the rest of his life Not looking at all good but trying to remain positive for him.

Hope Amy gets well soon Karen. What a shame in her first week. Her immune system will get stronger working with children and dealing with runny noses etc. What a shame the court case isn't going to go ahead Monday you must be so frustrated after such a long time.

Marion I still have my cough from before Christmas, plus my shoulder and knees still giving pain - I think the anti-inflammatories were working as I had forgotten about my shoulder and arm. Like you I feel I am going down and can't do the things I used to do. Take care. Sue, hope you enjoyed your fish and chips.

Jacky, this isn't just a cough though, it makes me whoooop up as well, so its not good.
Re your BIL, the good side is that although he will have to have the chemo, as long as it doesn't make him feel ill, at least he will still be alive. Its horrible getting older isn't it? I take it you have had good weather today? if you had lived here you would have been gardening in the pouring rain

Sue, I never eat the batter on fish either, hope you have enjoyed them. Gosh, fancy passing your driving test on friday 13th. I would have been scared to death going for it on that date.

Karen, sorry to hear about the court date being posponed. So now its back to the waiting game is it? Keep dosing Karen up and I am sure she will be back to work next week.

lol I also had a water infection but managed to get some tablets off the doctor today for it so am hoping they work.
I then went to Tesco's as my food was going down a bit. I hate food shopping.

The chemotherapy he was having was making him feel really ill but this one seems to be better. We saw him on Mums birthday a couple of weeks ago and was looking a bit frail and he keeps missing his treatment some weeks as his bloods hadn't recovered.
