Re: New Year
We usually get together with the neighbours as both the children seem to find a party to go to. Used to have kareoke but the last few years have just played board games Getting old

Re: New Year
Myself and Mike just usually cuddle up on the sofa and have a drink, he moved in on New Year's Eve 2004 so it's like our anniversary
Re: New Year
I usually stay at home and watch the parties on the TV, then at midnight stand outside and watch all the fireworks that are going off all around us

Re: New Year
Go to bed usually and read till fireworks stop! According to my son I'm an old misery but what's the point of sitting up when there's just the two of us and Roy doesn't drink anyway and there's absolutely nothing on the telly usually. He's right I do sound like an old misery
Re: New Year
We usually watch a film because theres usually cack on the tv so dont think your being a misery at all Sue, well if you are then so are we
Re: New Year
Last year we spent it in Paris and this year slightly down market in the Winter Wonderland Ice Skating in Cardiff he he We had plans of making it to Rome this year but finances didn't allow, so we'll have to try for next year he he When we got together we said we would spent New Year's Eve in a different city every year and I would love to keep to that if we can
Re: New Year
Lucky you hadn't arranged a night out at Lapland New Forest after seeing it on the news yesterday, all those people and the money they spent to see mud and animals not being kept in the best of conditions
Re: New Year
Shocking, and they wanted extra if you took a photo of your child with Santa after paying all that money
Re: New Year
Yeah £10 for a piccy with a fat man with a beard could have got my Dad to do it for nothing

Re: New Year
That New Forest thing looked terrible!
As for us well, we are old misery things as well
I can't drink this year at all, ain't the same bringing in the New Year with lemonade
Used to have some great family get togethers up in Scotland
Will see in the New Year open the door to let the old year out and the new one in and watch the fireworks and have a wee tear running down my face for Auld Lang Syne and absent family and friends, that will be it for us
10 pounds!!!
Alan only charges a fiver!!!

Re: New Year
Well we don't really CELEBRATE New Year and haven't since my hubby dad died (his birthday was 1st jan) so the shine went off it for us. This year we are having friends down from Stoke so will really have a good time.

No but the beard is real and he doesn't need padding
Oh dear Lou, that is not so good
Sorry to hear that
Christmas and New Year are times for reflection right enough
BIG HUG for you
I hope you enjoy your time with your friends this year
Re: New Year
We always used to go to Mums on Christmas Day and one of my brothers or sisters house on Boxing Day, then Dads birthday was 27th so another one would host that
When Dad died and Mum moved to a bungalow we couldn't all fit in (I am 1 of 5 and with other halfs and children and now their children, made quite a crowd) so my brother had the Christmas day and someone else had the Boxing Day. When my brother died last year we didnt go to Cheltenham as both our children were home for the first time in several years - Mum went to my sister for Christmas Day and we went on Dads birthday to see her, but no real celebration Still haven't got into the Christmas mood
