Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
Morning ladies, surprisingly warm here today and quite bright. Mike's last day at work for this year and what does he do, overlay, hasn't all year he woke up and asked me if he was supposed to be working today and I said well yes and he was like oh $%&*£$& and jumped out of bed and got himself ready.
Had a lovely little drive out in the car yesterday and was so nice to see a little bit of different scenery
Got all my cards finished yesterday plus a rush one that someone phoned me to make them, so hopefully that's me done with Christmas cards for this year
Going to get the Christmas tree out of the loft tomorrow and get that up but as for today I have to nip out later this afternoon, have done the dreaded housework already and had brekkie so the day is mostly mine
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning!
Havent been on here for a couple of days... with the problem with Microsoft hubby told me not use the puter until he had changed over to something else.. so he changed and now I cant find all my favourite places to go It has changed all my favourites into alphabetical order... but its not an alphabet I am familiar with, certainly different to the one I learnt when I was at school
Anyway hope you are all ok... countdown now to christmas - still got a few bits to get but nothing major. I am busy sewing some christmas coasters, and I amhoping sure they will be on the table for Christmas day!!! Last day of looking after the children today so if Ben has a sleep this afternoon, I will get on with doing some more sequinning!!!
Going to have a nosey around the forum... see if you have behaved!!! Have a great day, see you later xx

No chance Karen us behave
Love the thought of the scene Jayne, with kitty asleep in the tree. Have you got any piccies of them yet and have they got names
Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
they have names Jacky, first kitty and last kitty, well that's what Jayne says to me when she talks about them
Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
Morning ladies, I'm still laughing at the thought of the bauble free tree with a kitten asleep in it hehe Don't you just love them he he. The first Christmas when Tash was 3 months old she used to climb up the back of the tree thinking I wouldn't notice that she was there he he. She also tried dive bombing the tree from the window sill he he. Those were the days when she used to walk across on top of the curtain rail and often would fall asleep there he he. Nowadays at almost 5kg in weight I think she would bring the whole lot down on herself he he. She's part Ragdoll breed of cat not a fat cat and won't reach full adult size until she is 4 years old apparently he he
Hope you all have a great day and those that are unwell feel a little better
Hugs

Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
Afternoon ladies. Still got a sore throat but if it's a cold it hasn't come out yet- just have the odd sneeze and feel a bit out of sorts generally. Also not enjoying food which is definitely not like me! Roy wanted to go to Basingstoke this morning to get some last minute bits for his daughter and her boyfriend. Eventually managed to get some of the books she wanted - most of them were out of stock- but didn't want to risk ordering online in case they don't arrive in time.
Then I got home to find a letter from my pension people to say I had been overpaid but they don't know how much by yet as still working it out. Not a happy bunny. I only get a pittance anyway and when the tax changed last April it took off more than the annual increase so I ended up with less than last year and now they want to reduce it again. At this rate I'll be paying them!!!!

Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
That's terrible Sue, when they have made the mistake you shouldn't be the one to suffer. Hope it's not a lot
Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
So do I!. They are not taking any of the overpayment back just adjusting it in April when they pay the next increase. I'm not the only one - it's the Civil Service and apparently it's thousands of people. It was on the news on Monday. Trouble is there is no way of checking to see if they get it right when they adjust it. It's all to do with the GMP part of the pensions.
Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
Makes me mad all the people that work in these pension departments and they still can't get it right, I worked along side 2 other people plus a Finance Director in a multi million pound company and mistakes were very few and far between considering the amount of invoices going in and out of the company everyday and those mistakes were usually caused by other people not us(and no I'm not passing the buck it's true) but if companys ran their books the way the government and pension houses ran their's they would all be bankrupt in no time
ok off my soap box now

Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
My lad come home sick from school today.
I phoned my boss giving her 2 hours notice
I wouldnt be into work, bearing in mind this
is the first time I have ever took a day off in
8 years to mind him when he was sick(he is rarely sick)
she said fine she would get someone to cover
my shift and 10 mins before my shift is about
to start she rings me to say she cant get
anyone to cover me, I told her there was no
way I could come in and she tried to lay the guilt
trip on me, she couldnt do it apparently because
she was taking her 2 sons out of school for the
afternoon shopping well i stuck to my guns,
I do feel bad letting people down but after a convo
that we had a few months ago, I swore i wouldnt
be so much of a door mat. I know tomorrow I will
get the cold shoulder but oh well, she will get over
it an at least now she knows I mean what I say in future

Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
I agree Jan. It makes me mad as when I joined the Civil Service way back the standards expected of people who worked there were very high. When I retired the quality of the people comong in was at times unbelievable! And they didn't care whether they made mistakes or take any pride in their work. Better get off my soap box too or I'll be on it all night!Makes me mad all the people that work in these pension departments and they still can't get it right, I worked along side 2 other people plus a Finance Director in a multi million pound company and mistakes were very few and far between considering the amount of invoices going in and out of the company everyday and those mistakes were usually caused by other people not us(and no I'm not passing the buck it's true) but if companys ran their books the way the government and pension houses ran their's they would all be bankrupt in no time

Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
Oh poor Dean. Give him a hug and hope he gets well in time for Christmas Glad you stuck to your guns Jayne. I know what you mean about being a doormat. When I got in the shop now to buy anything, the staff are brilliant but the boss just walks past as though he doesn't know me - after working there for 6 years and standing in for people who are off whenever they needed someone
Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
Good afternoon all,
Been mega busy today so this is the first real chance I have had for a shufty round!
Hope Dean is better soon Jayne, and Danni is too Shell, tell her she is not allowed to be ill when she comes to us.....or I shall just have to mother her to bits!!!! Tell her to be scared!

Re: Woohoo it's Thursday almost the weekend
Yep I have done all that too Jacky, when I first
started there and for the first 3 years I would
often work 7.30am to 3pm and then go back at
6 pm till 11pm, then a few months ago we was
dragged in the office and basically told if I didnt
like how things were I didnt need to come in any
more, I have lost all loyallty to her and her stinking
job, and if another job comes up I will be gone, but
they are hard come by that fit around Dean and school
but the older he is getting the more time option is open
to me, she finds it hard to keep staff, because she is
such a b***h
