Friday?
Emmm..... yep hubby said it is Friday Good morning all, got it right today, just getting a cuppa. Not so cold today. Well school holidays are with us now. I do hope everyone is feeling a little better today. Not got much on as the grandchildren will be coming early as school is out at lunchtime. So whatever you have on do have a good day Janetxx
Re: Friday?
Good morning Janet a bit colder here today, im just chilling and i think ive got a birthday card to make . Enjoy your day whatever you are doing and hugs to those who need them. Kids break up today too
Re: Friday?
Good morning Janet and Andrea and all who follow,
It a wet start to the day here in North London. Mum flew out to Spain this morning at 6:55am she will be back boxing day.
I will have a tidy up day today to get ready for Chrimbo and I need to make a birthday card for my son Daniel as he is 25 on the 22 Dec, god that makes me feel so old.
Tomorrow we have to do food shopping and get the turkey because Alan is working up to Chrimbo eve and I can't get out on my own and Sunday is the winter solstice so we will be up really early to go to a place where there is a tree Cathedral for sun rise. The winter solstice is the time of year when the holly king and the green man fight if the holly king wins it will be a long cold winter and if the green man wins spring will come early.
Breakie is calling I'm going to make a spanish omelette this morning and my usual nettle tea.
I hope you all have a good day.

Re: Friday?
Good morning Janet, Andrea & Mikki and all who follow, bit grey here and slightly colder than yesterday but not raining so that's a bonus
Mike has now broken up for Christmas and doesn't go back until 6th January, so I know what your all going through at the thought of the children being off for a couple of weeks no it will be good to spend some quality time with him
We go past a tree cathedral at Whipsnade, I have never been to one and Mike has said a few times about us stopping and having a look but we always seem to go by it when we haven't got time to stop or is to late to see it, so if we get time when we go up at Christmas might get him to take me, sounds intriguing the way he described it.
Hope everyone is feeling better today

Think I better do a bit of hoovering and tidying up today... no dusting though, dont want to disturb the christmas deccies!!!
Have a lovely day, will pop back later xx

Re: Friday?
Morning everyone, its a crisp one in Cardiff today another one where Tash just sticks her nose out the window to test the temperature and runs straight back in the room he he. Its so funny as she comes back in and snuggles up to the radiator or under the duvet on days like today, obviously the fur coat isn't enough he he
I put my decs up last night so it feels a little more festive today, but I guess I'll have the full effect when I babysit tomorrow .... children definitely make Christmas in my mind
The tree Cathedral sounds intriguing Mikki Is there one up in my neck of the woods, so to speak ? You'll have to let us know who wins on the 21st so that we know what to expect for the next few months
Hugs for you all, and hope those who are feeling poorly feel better very soon

Re: Friday?
You saying about Tash Jen, my Shar Pei hates walking on wet grass and when he goes out especially this time of year when the ground is wet in the morning you would think he was walking in acid, he almost tippy toes through it and looks like a right fairy and as soon as he has done what he went out there for he is back up the garden like a rocket but his feet hardly touch the ground

Re: Friday?
Cold and sunny here today. Making a start on the January birthday cards as I'm all organised for once and ready for Christmas! Feeling very relieved as our (large and expensive) parcel to Oz finally arrived after 18 days!
Big party tonight but hope to eat sensibly over the next couple of weeks -easier said than done but I'm very determined this year. Lost another pound this week but think it may stick now for a while.
Hope you are all feeling better today. Don't think there's any Moovision but will check later in case.

Re: Friday?
Postman has just put a card through the door someone has sent something through without enough postage on, the card says Jan & Mike so no idea who it is from, can't moan really though I have done this once that I know of before I realised about the changes in postal charges(don't use snail mail much so didn't realise )
Re: Friday?
Afternoon all - crisp first thing now Been doing a bit of h******k this morning but it starts the coughing off Nevermind the lounge now looks clean and tidy, put all the cards up too. The rest of the house still needs doing, got to put clean sheets on Sallys bed as she is staying over Christmas Eve and Day While cleaning the lounge I was watching a childrens film on Film 24 (Santa Jnr). Why do childrens films always make me cry. Had to grab the tissues.
My poodle is like your dog Jan. Goes to the first bit of garden off the path and straight back in if it's wet.
Hope everyone has a good day. Going to tidy up my craft room now as I have done my ATCs for December

Re: Friday?
Hi all well all the wrapping up is done of all the pressies i have bought still waiting for a parcel from ebay, and have got to get my son a couple more pressies, next year will write all the prices down and make sure they all get the same amount of money, my 2 eldest grandchildren want the money but i still buy them a couple of pressies to open on xmas morn, had fun shopping for lucy what do you get a 2 month old you have to think of through the year when they will be getting older, had some fun in ELC.
There are 14 of us going to my daughters for xmas dinner her partners parents and his sister and family and his nan, so i have bought them all a little pressie i know i am MAD but couldnt think of giving all the pressies out and nothing to them, but if derek is still out of work next year they all might get nothing.
Well must get on our car is still poorly and still in the garage having work done on it new handbrake cable and struts and otherthings great just before xmas, and my heating broke down while i was on hols and am waiting for a £300 bill from the gas.
Well have a nice day take care
Hugs Janette

Re: Friday?
Hi Cubbie,
That the one we are going to, I'm no good with place name until you said whipsnad(sp!), I have only been once when we were looking for so where to hold our handfasting, but it was to far out for most of my family.
It's a really beautiful, magical place we will be there for sunrise on Sunday and then back to London for lunch at my friends.
I'm listening to David Cassidy's greatest hit and I have to keep stopping what I'm doing as the song bring back so many good memories why do we always wish our youth away I couldn't wait to be 16, then 18 and 21, but once you get to 21 the next mile stone is 40 and that not such a good mumber and now I'm three years away for 50, where did the years go? answers on a post card please lol.
I'll make sure Alan take some pic's Sunday so you can see how beautiful the tree cathedral is.
I hope you are all having a good day.

Hi Jenny,
Sorry I didn't see your question until I had sent Cubbies post. I'm not sure if there are any other tree Cathedrals but I will ask Alan when he gets home.

Re: Friday?
Ah dont Mikki, know just what you mean, cant wait for an `age` then it is all flying by so much, and as for the old songs and the childrens Christmas films I am right in there with you Jackie
Re: Friday?
Bit chilly here this morning. There were pretty patterns all over the car and that was at 9.30! Still got a bit of a dry throat but the headachey bit seems to have gone (touch wood) The sudafed must have worked. Off to make mince pies this afternoon. Roy has been asking for them since I made the mincemeat a fortnight ago. Since he's tasted it he won't eat shop ones anymore! Daren't make them too soon though or there'll be none left at Christmas.
Re: Friday?
Sue... have never made mincemeat before, just googled a recipe and think I might give it a go next year. Mind you could always make some now, let it mature and then have mince pies at Easter!!!

Re: Friday?
I have never made it either, didn't realise that people made their own. You will have to put your recipe on the forum Sue
Re: Friday?
I've put the recipe on. Quite alcoholic or at least mine is! Spoils you for ever for mince pies though. Shop bought mincemeat or mince pies don't quite fit the bill once you've made it.
Re: Friday?
I watched Santa Jr one day last week Jacky
I have a jar of mincemeat that's been in the cupboard since last year, should be ok to eat
We made mincemeat in home economics when I was at school, was quite easy to make if I remember rightly
Mike said if we get time we will go to the cathedral when we are up that way at Christmas, can't wait to see it now
