Re: This is for dieting and weight loss/gain related posts
Hi Anne,
Yes you do and put what weight you have lost or in my case gained
I'm desperately trying to sike (spelling) myself up to start a diet and do some excercise.
I wish I had some willpower to cut down on the size of my portions and to stop picking inbetween meals.

Re: This is for dieting and weight loss/gain related posts
We used to post weight everfy Monday but now a couple of us go to Slimming clubs on Thursdays and post then. It doesn't matter as long as its regular and we keep encouraging each other and swap hints and tips.
Re: This is for dieting and weight loss/gain related posts
for instance.......... (Pepi) I put away my large dinner plates and switched to smaller ones. Doesn't take nearly as much food to make them look full. LARGE portions were my downfall too even though I've always eaten a healthy balanced diet.

Re: This is for dieting and weight loss/gain related posts
As I thought- not only had I gained what I lost last week but another half pound as well. 2lbs on I'll just have to get grandson back, all the crawling round the floor, pushing the pram must have done something - or maybe it was the lack of sleep that made me not eat as much And I've been to the gym twice this weekas well.
Re: This is for dieting and weight loss/gain related posts
You may have put down some muscle, that weighs more than fat. Excercise does help.
I haven't been brave enough to get on the scales and see what my stating weight will be.
I need to start excercising. I know I will feel so much better once I have lost some weight and improved my fitness levels so why ca't I get started

Re: This is for dieting and weight loss/gain related posts
Be brave - jump on the scales and post it here, no cheating, that's the hardest bit. The rest is easier and once you've done it you're on your way - we'll help you

Hi there I would like to Join in as well please, have been on a diet since easter only trouble is because of my back i cant do exercise so its just cutting out naughty things, like bread, potatoes, fizzy lemonade, and me and my hubby have a salad every other night, and it seems to be working.
Re: This is for dieting and weight loss/gain related posts
Hello Jan.
I think cutting down on food and cutting out the naughty foods is the best way to loose weight. I dont like these faddie diets at all.
Sorry to hear you have a bad back.

I still enjoy my potatoes especially if in their jacket - I just leave the lashings of butter out andfill with low fat cream cheese and herbs, tuna, cottage cheese, baked beans, salmon etc and serve with a salad.
I have a small chunk of crusty warm bread as a treat at the weekend but IN MODERATION. If you cut things out completely you end up craving them more

Re: This is for dieting and weight loss/gain related posts
That is a valid point about not cutting out all the goodies, but keeping them to moderation.
That is my problem I don't do moderation

Re: This is for dieting and weight loss/gain related posts
Follow whichever diet plan works for you -that can be any slimming club or 'go it alone'.
Just post your weight loss once a week on the same dayeach time and we then allcomiserate or congratulate each other-that's all you have to do. We occasionally swap recipes or any helpful advice but really we do it to keep our motivation going.
Sounds like you've done really well in the past. Most of us are losing weight very slowly and steadily and are happy with any loss even half a pound a week. I've certainly found that when it comes off slowly, good long-term eating habits are formed and the weight is less likely to come back on.
