I''m Back
Had a lovely few days in Bath although the weather could have been better. The campsite was in a hollow so the high winds on Friday didn't affect us - great site and we chose it because it had a bar and resturant. After setting up the camper and awning we went to the bar ordered drinks and asked for a menu and they said they weren't cooking that night We only had breakfast and lunch things with us so Martin went to the shop on site and bought cold pasty for himself and a sausage roll for me and brought it back to the bar - the barman looked but didnt dare say anything After that we didnt bother with the resturant - just ate out midafternoon in Bath and a snack later on. It did rather spoil the first night though. Sunday was spent crafting, doing crosswords and suduko in the van as the weather was awful, but the rest of the time we took the bus into town and managed to stay dry. Have managed to catch up on all the threads now - you lot do chat

Welcome back Jacky. glad you had a good time in spite of the weather.
Bath is a beautiful city, my daughter was at university there and we loved to visit -must go back soon
I love the American museum and we alweays park our car near the university and catch the bus - much cheaperand easier to find a space.

The American Museum was closed Jane, we also took the bus as it was only a 5 min walk out of the site and we had our bus passes Didn't use the van all the time we were there

What a shame - I do remember their hours were rather restricted. You've made me want to go back again soon. If anyone is interested the hours are:
14 March – 1 November 2009
Tuesday – Sunday, 12noon – 5pm
Closed Mondays except Bank Holidays and during August.
Admission Adult-£8.00, Concession -£7.00 , Child (5 – 16)- £4.50, Family(2 adults + 2 children 5 – 16) £21.50
you have to pay extra for the exhibition (American Arts and Crafts of the 19th Centuary) In the past they've had Kaffe Fasset Knitwear and beautiful quilts too
