Day out in London
What a BRILLIANT day
Alan dropped Dot, Sarah's boyfriend's Mum, and I off at the venue and Sarah, my daughter, and Alan went off exploring London.
We were allowed to keep the car in the carpark and the venue was right across from Westminster Cathedral
As we entered everyone was given a goodie bag with LOTS of craft goodies in it
I am now the proud owner of a QVC mug, teddy, pen and ruler
We were also handed a ticket for a raffle at the end of the afternoon
As we entered the main room we were both totally overawed by it all
There were so many tables with lots of take and makes
We just wandered up and down for ages taking it all in
That JJ, Dawn's husband, is a LOT better looking in the flesh
WOW!!!
And Anthony is even more of a gentleman in real life and soooo handsome to boot
We eventually plucked up the courage to join some make and takes but I just couldn't concentrate and Amy, Dawn's neice was laughing her head off at me fo decoupaging a teddy with 3 ears
I was just overawed by the crowds, the noise and the atmosphere
We eventually managed to get into a class in a side room, courtesy of Joe a lovely girl who was one of the helpers and made a very large fold it flower
Whwn we came out we wandered round and spoke to the man from Paper Nation whose Uncle comes from Bathgate, my home town!!!!
We got another goodie bag from DO Crafts and then the afternoon was about at it's end before you could wink
Everyone drew round for the raffle
The prizes were just WOW and got bigger as they went on
Dawn held up one particular prize from American Crafts, the 3rd last, and pretended to hide it
Everyone was amazed
I didn't recognise the brand name but sat intrigued
I was determined not to get my photo taken in my wheelchair and got my sticks out and hobbled towards Dawn, I was very stiff with sitting.
Next thing there was a roar and a big round of applause
By this time I had tears rolling down my eyes
I doubt if I will be recognisable in the photo as Dawn just grabbed me and gave me a very large hug
As we came out Alan and Sarah were there waiting and took a photo of ou with our goodie bags
It was just as we were telling them all about it that we realised we had totally forgotten about swapping our ATCs
But the best bit was that Alan and Sarah were full of their day too
They had been on the wheel and had areally good day out
I was so proud that my Daughter and her stepfather could have a day out in London together and really enjoy each others company
I am still recovering as it took a LOT out of me but what a day to remember!
And I just wanted to share each and every bit with all my friends here on the forum.
I genuinely wish you could all have been there
That would have made my day complete

Re: Day out in London
I was just so overawed by it all
it was a kind of freaky feeling to be honest
I shared my prize with Dot of course as she was so good with me all day
She didn't want me to share but I was sooo pleased and thankful for her help
What a lovely woman

Re: Day out in London
I've just reread your post as I only glanced at it before. It brought tears to my eyes - I'm so delighted for you. Look forward to see the pictures some time. Hope your resting a bit now even if you are still on cloud nine!
Re: Day out in London
I am still crying when I think about it
And yes I am relaxing
Body won't let me do anything else
But I am sooooo content as is Alan having spent a lovely day out with my daughter
I feel sooo blessed

We live in an awesome world.
Make it an awesome day.
Peace To All and May God Bless You
Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to God.

Re: Day out in London
It sure is an awesome world , whether you believe in religion or not
Sometimes we overlook the simple things in life
I still say my highlight was seeing Alan and Sarah so content at having such a wonderful day
And being able to share with other people not, hopefully, in a boastful way.
I love to see my loved ones happy, that's when I am happy
I love to share happy times with others so they will be happy too and so I can share in their happiness
Yes the simple things in life are the best whether you are religious or not
Poopytree you have got me going all sentimental now
Right I am going to put that washing out and let the wind blow away all my softie thoughts

Re: Day out in London
Now I have to wipe my eyes. So glad you had a lovely day out Sadie. You deserve it with all you have to go through. How lovely to know that the people you see on the tv and just as nice when you meet them I'm quite emotional now.
Re: Day out in London
Oh dear!
I meant to make people happy not sad!
I really hope they are happy tears
Yes I can honestly say everyone was lovely
There was another presenter there who was especially nice but I cannot remember her name
She has long brown straight hair, shoulder length, I think she has twins and is very friendly with Dawn
She is quite into crafting herself too and was talking about a blog she was setting up
Oh darn! I am hopeless at names!!!
Anyway I had a right good chat with her too and she was soooo down to earth
Now will everyone please stop crying and think on her name

It was Catherine Huntly!!!!
She has changed from being a blonde to a brunette
I remember her laughing about that!
What a lovely down to earth woman she was

Re: Day out in London
That's what made me think it might be her as she seems to do a lot of crafting when she is on tv talking to Dawn. How are your scratches.
I am off to the post office now to post my card swap.

Re: Day out in London
Scratches really sore and my arm is all bruised
Jimmy is still in the dog house
Will let him out once I have watched QVC
Its just that he wants to see everybody and he doesn't realise that everybody wants to see him!
Mad mutt
Hopefully I will be fit enough to make my swap card tomorrow

I've been called a few names in my time but that takes the biscuit!
Sounds like something the dog did!
