My computer has slowed down so much - it's almost stopped. It takes 20 -30 seconds for a page to load so not the best time to stay and chat Cubbie.

Cleared all the tubs and hanging baskets and rebooted the PC - all back to normal again

is it just me or is the Forum running slow?
My pooter isn't that old so I doubt if it is that to blame
I mean surely I couldn't have used it that much already

We had the O2 network go down
here about a week ago

There was an extensive power cut in the Epsom area affecting our bank and building society and large sections of shops for a while. Could have been something to do with that.

Something funny going on, our phones are now but the internet went down for a little while we seem to be back on now, hubby said, it was the backlash from the `smashing of the atom` the other day No CC forum lv Janet xx

smashing the atom did you hear about how much the electricity bill is to run that for a year £14 million pounds and who is footing that bill, well the British government has given the project £1/2 billion ? that machine must have the largest carbon footprint in the world and to prove what that the big bang theory is a theory or fact waste of money if you ask me

Think of how many nurses they could pay
with that money and how many hospital
bed etc etc etc and how many crafting goodies
would be some kinda super duper craft room

I agree with you both, it is amazing what they can find the money for, and it is not the right things, you have people denied drugs that will help them and keep them alive, and research for cures, for even the simple common cold. lv Janet xx

They said that medical breakthroughs could come from the research, oh in about 20 years time, so that's £14million times 20 years plus upkeep of the place all the wages of the people working on it and a few jollies along the way and they are trying to convince us that it is money spent wisely, don't think so

I get so cross when I hear the amount of money the Government spends on things. Even local councils too. Martin works in a school and he says even the smallest jobs cost the earth as they have to get contractors in to do everything

I'd like to know what happens to our road tax. We seem to have the worse roads in Europe but none of Europe pay road tax?? So where does that money go.

Also were has all the money gone for the Council houses that have been bought. What have they done with that shed loads of money!!!!!

I didnt realise you live so near Louie, I don't know New Haw but it was on the tv the other day by the Basingstoke Canal. When we lived in Fleet the canal towpath ran along the end of our back garden. I wasnt until Scotty said you gave her a lift to the Crafty Cow that I looked to see where you were. Hope to meet up with you both soon

We pay road tax here in Ireland, the rate is set
by the size engine of your car, and our roads are
absolutely terrible, have always wondered that myself Louie
