Eventful afternoon! Empty Eventful afternoon!

Post  topgran Wed Oct 01, 2008 6:23 pm

What a fun afternoon I've had Exclamation First of all the water was dripping out of the washing machine door Sad as something was stuck in it. Normally it would have beeped at me and not worked Exclamation Grabbed some towels to put down and turned it off. So far so good Exclamation Then the door unlocked so I opened it Exclamation No and more water gushed out Exclamation Quickly shut it again. Now usually if there is water in it IT WILL NOT OPEN and it has to be drained from waste pipe but today...... Twisted Evil Drained it, removed offending article and carried on with washing. I've not got a lot of very wet towels and a very clean floor Smile On with the Christmas card making. All went well till I tried to emboss with glitter Exclamation It doesn't work Surprised Exclamation Time for a break and a cuppa I think Exclamation

What a frustrating day - a clean floor isn't much consolation. Hope the washing machine behaves itself next time. Bad luck with the glitter -did the heat gun send it everywhere?

Oh doh what a frustrating afternoon for you Sue. Now if you had wanted the door to open when there was water in the machine, as I did a couple of months ago, then it wouldn't have done it Sad I had to prise it open with a screwdriver Sad The machine was dead anyways but it would have been good if it had opened so that the water could have been emptied prior to the machine being moved. Hope your machine behaves itself now.

Hugs

No the glitter stayed put Jane but rubbed off. I sort of hoped it might have stuck! Jenny if you have that happen again you should be able to empty the water bu putting the waste pipe down low into a bowl or bucket. You can tell I've done this before can't you?

Didn't have a great day myself but can't go into that
It does get quite frightening how much we all rely on our modern-day appliances
I remember one repair man telling me to never buy a washing machine that was computer contolled as they were more difficult to mend
It is nigh on impossible to find one that is not these days
Its is puzzling Sue though why it opened when full of water scratch

Laughing green glitter on hubby's trousers Laughing
I don't think Alan misses that experience since my craft was moved outside
It was even worse when I had all my things in the bedroom Embarassed
The things our poor partners and pets have to put up with Karen lol!

Oh Sue you poor thing and you sounded so organised first thing this morning. You can get embossing powder with glitter in it but I was wondering if you mixed glitter with some clear embossing powder if that would work. I haven't tried it, it's just a thought Smile I woke up with a headache this morning which got worse after I had been to the shops. My legs have felt like jelly all afternoon so have chilled out and watched things I have recorded on tv but not got round to watching Laughing Feel better now although I didnt get to the WI - maybe next month Smile

I'm being a blond tonight, why were you trying to emboss with glitter ? couldn't you just stamp the image with glue and then sprinkle the glitter on ? or use a glue pen to create the shape you wanted. I guess it depends what you were embossing with he he Smile If it was a stencil you could use the same liquid glue that you use for foiling. Ok I'm making suggestions now for a process that I have no knowledge of ... time to switch off and go and play some games me thinks he he Smile
