Morning!!!

Brrrrrrrrrr....another cold morning, but no frost! Heating hadnt come on when I got up (well it was 6.00!!) so its a bit cool in here.
Having a roast dinner at home today, instead of going to a nice restaurant for my Mum's birthday. Never mind, we will be able to celebrate again once the weather has improved.

Dancing on Ice tonight ladies, and think its the ladies who are skating. Also Wild at Heart returns ... so its a good evening in front of the tv!

Have a cosy day and take care xx

Good morning Karen and all who follow. Have a great time with your Mum Karen, wish her a very happy birthday from all your friends on the forum too Very Happy We are supposed to be going to the golf club for a get together lunch with all Martins golfing friends who he usually goes to Spain with. The guy who lives in the road leading up to the golf course said that all the men in the road cleared the road immediately after the first lot of snow and have kept it clear Shocked It is a private road but quite long. The golf course have cleared their road inside too, which is just as well as it is a very steep winding road. We were going to walk which would take about half an hour normally, longer in the snow, but now 6 of us are hoping to get a taxi from the end of our road as the main roads are clear Laughing Sally, Ian and Martin had fun yesterday on the sledge and Ian took his snowboard so Sally & Ian took it in turns to use while Martin videoed them Laughing Take care, enjoy your day and hugs to the poorlies out there. Hope you are feeling a little less painful today Lou Very Happy

Good Morning Girls ,
Well I've been done ! He did a little bit more and did a mini prolapse repair ! So I will soon feel like a new woman ! Little bit sore , and having to retrain my bladder and was only up once in the night which is unheard of for me usually up 2-4 times ! Had a bit of cough yesturday with no unwanted side effects .....so to me it was a success ! Got to take it easy for a little while, and Iam not allowed to drive ( would'nt want to in this awful weather ) and the biggest dissapointment Iam not allowed to hoover ....as if ! so no change there then ! lol! Seems like we have all still got this awful weather ,keeps snowing here , so I am not going out in this,,,,,
Karen shame all your plans for your mums birthday have gone to pot , still Iam sure she'll whatever you do , hope everyone has a lovely day , keep warm . Big hugs to any poorlies .x Very Happy

Glad it all went OK Lexie. I need a major prolapse repair some time but keep putting it off as I can still manage and only need to get up once a night and not every night at that.

At least the knee's a lot better than a month ago. I can walk without a stick and can even get up and down stairs reasonably well now. Still have a limp and not sure how far I can walk but it's a little better every day so here's hoping!

Thank goodness the expected heavy snow and low temperatures didn't arrive last night. I think we may have some more snow but maybe it won't be as bad as predicted. I'll hopefully be in Singapore this time next week and more than half way there!

Post  LoopyLou Sun Jan 10, 2010 4:47 pm

Hi all,

Just a short visit...... still bad with my back but at least I managed to get downstairs today.... OK it took DIAZEPAM to make that possible but at least I am not on my own upstairs! I get too lonely!

I was hoping to have seen an improvement but not so yet... will have to wait.... sounds like the kids school will still be closed tomorrow so at least I probably wont have to go out on the 2inch thick ice that passes for pavements round here still!

We were forecast more snow yesterday but only had a couple of light flurries, my dad just popped round and said its not too cold today and even some of the harder ice is starting to thaw.... so fingers crossed the schools will be open soon! He brought me round a load of their christmas cards (to recycle for next years) I hate stuff going to waste!

So glad all went well Lexie, was thinking of you hun x Take it easy xx No more Tena's for you LOL!!

Glad the knee is easing a bit Jane, not long now till the off, just keep thinking positive thoughts hun x

Happy birthday to Karens mum x Have a lovely day x

Hope you don't get too deluged in snow Jan, we were forecast to have some last night but it hasn't happened!

Pleased you managed to get the op, and that everything went well Lexie. Take care, you too Jane and Lou, hope things improve soon.

Everything is looking hopeful here, the snow has more or less gone from the tallest trees, it's only the rhododendrons and other 'chunky' shrubs that are still weighed down. A poor pigeon is sitting on one of the bird tables looking very forlorn, they usually make themselves scarce when it's raining or snowing, but perhaps he's in the doghouse and can't go home! Smile He certainly looks dejected.

Watched tv this morning Shocked and saw a fascinating demo using a brayer. I had missed about half of the programme when I realized it was on, and I'm sorry, I could have watched it all day. I've seen the demonstrator before, Barbara Gray, and I think she is wonderful. It may be repeated later on Sky tv, (which I don't have) so I may try to catch the bit I missed on the pc. What a life of leisure Smile ! Perhaps being trapped in isn't so bad after all! Smile (YES it is! I'd rather be busy and free.) If you haven't seen Barbara she's well worth checking out, really inspiring.

The pigeon has moved to another table and is busily eating now. I think it must be a male, in the doghouse and feeling sorry for himself, but not letting it spoil his appetite Smile .

Have fun.

I know Barbara , Christine she is a very talented lady , she's fairly locial to me to .I like her but some people find her a bit scary , I know what they mean but I hink she's great .My lovely husband came back from town with a lovely pressie for me , I'd seen a pair of boots in the sale the other day and was tempted , but thought have'nt got much work so had better not .....Micky brought them for me a s a ' Get well ' gift , what with the flowers yesturday Iam very spoilt ! They are dark Green leather and I've wanted green for a while as I have a green bag and nothing to go with it ! ....have now .
Jane glad your knee is a bit better , your biggest problem is on the flight have you booked a aisle seat so you can stretch out a bit, or even better a emergency exit seat, only problem with them is hey get a bit chilly . Iam going online later to se about changing our flights and staying 10 longer so that we can do a bit more .we love to go to the Kruger Park which is a 10 hour drive from mums and we want to go to some further away places .....Ray Meres eat your heart out.

Got a side aisle pair of seats! - they don't like less mobile people blocking the emergency exit! Don't like the front row of the sections as they tend to have babies and toddlers there and it can be really annoying if you get a squealer!

Singapore Air have better than average leg room so not too worried. I like to get up and walk around frequently so we're right at the back - just 2 seats instead of three and room to get out, even on the window side. Unlike chartered flights the loos are kept spotless so that's not a problem either (bit smelly on Euro flights!)

You lucky creature, Lexie! I would love to have access to Barbara's workshops, if only to watch. I am a huge fan, she is so accomplished, but presents her wonderful demo's in a way that makes them look as though I could do them! I particularly like her down-to-earth, straightforward approach, but perhaps that is what some people find intimidating? Personally I appreciate people being straightforward, so long as it isn't being used as justification to be unpleasant! Evil or Very Mad

If any one is interested I have one of Barbara's videos - The Art of Transparent Stamping, which includes brayering. I don't have a working video player so its no use to me.

Let me know if you want it - first to reply is welcome to it. I suggest a small donation to cover postage and packing but otherwise it's free!

Evening all, great to see you back on Lexie and that the op went well Smile You must be so relieved ... sorry no pun intended there he he.

You stay resting young Miss Lou, or at least don't do too much Smile

I would take you up on the offer in an instance Jane but Pete has my video player - doh!! he he. I love Barbara and her style of demoing, lucky you living so close Lexie Smile

I've spent the day with the girls and their Wii playing, I stupidly had a go at the jogging one with Desree, and boy do my knees know that I tried now, and that's with stopping half way around too he he. I'm pooped but happily so, they always wear me out but love their enthusiasm and feel so loved when they don't want me to go home he he They have decided that their parents should convert the garage as a flat for me he he, bless them Smile

Night night all and hope Lexie and Lou that you are able to get some pain free sleep Smile

Hugs
