Re: Monday
Morning Karen and all who follow, It's -6 here this morning but at least the sun is out. Kayleigh had a great time at her Guide weekend although she came home very tired. I was a bit cross with the Guiders though, they knew she had been off school all week poorlie then on Saturday they got all the Guides paddling in a paddling pool as the theme of the weekend was tropical beach.
It's Joshuas turn to be off today, he got sent home from school Friday morning but there didn't seem much wrong with him so I took him back at dinnertime. He has slowly got worse over the weekend, his glands are up in his neck and he sounds like a seal at the zoo when she coughs/barks (there's not much use sending him as his teacher would only send him home)
Karen enjoy your cross stitch ( I haven't done any for ages)
(((HUGS))) to anyone who needs them
Have a good day whatever you are doing

Re: Monday
What on earth were the Guides thinking of letting the Kayleigh go in a paddling pool??? Can understand having a tropical beach theme in June... But January I bet the one's in charge were all wrapped up! Hope Kayleigh and Josh feel better soon... looks like its doing its round in your house.

Re: Monday
I know. I only hope she doesn't get worse again. I'm just glad she had the sense to stay indoors on the Saturday night as they were also given the opportunity to sleep out in a tent (3 did and they were frozen when they came in on Sunday morning)

Re: Monday
Good morning Karen, Frances and all who follow
How ridiculous to hold a tropical theme, different if it was in a well heated hall, but they never are. Camping in January Sorry to hear that Josh has it now. It did the rounds in our house too but I was the last one to get it. Been to the doctors this morning and have got painkillers - she thinks it was sleeping awkwardly with my neck and the shoulder is the result of moving awkwardly so as not to hurt my neck. Got some exercises to do when the painkillers kick in.
Karen, the burial went ok. Sally's landlady's boyfriend dug a deep hole to put them in then left the 2 girls to it. They covered the box with soil and then planted a Camelia over it - covering the surface with slate when they had finished. They also sprayed animal deterrent around it too to make sure they are not dug up again. I think the hole seemed deep enough from what she said.
Lou has been to the doctors too and he has told her to take codeine first to suppress her cough and later take the rest of her medication and food and REST - can you imagine her doing that - and stay warm, not to go out in the cold as that sets off the cough too. Steaming to get rid of the catarrh.
Hope you are enjoying your cross stitch Karen

Taught Sophie to cross stitch (and a few other basic stiches) at the weekend. I brought some cloth - 6 stiches to the inch and embroidery threads with me. She did well for her first attempt. Of the 2 samples below one we did together and the other she did on her own - not bad for a 7 year old!
