Wednesday
Good morning ladies, and it is a good one this morning, the sun is out
All I have planned today is to get the dishes washed and thats it. This cough is still knocking me sideways at times. I have to see the doctor on Monday about something else, but he is going to "hear" all about the cough as well. I know they don't like treating more than one thing, but this wouldn't happen if I could get an appointment before May! yes May!!!!
Moan over.
Hope you all have a good day.

Re: Wednesday
I thought our surgery was bad but May is ridulous Marion!! I'm off up there (my doctors that is) at lunchtime. They wrote to me offering a free health check! Don't think it amounts to much though - had the blood test for it the other week so I think it is just blood pressure and cholesterol and a nag about weight! Still I can ask at the same time about the giddyness I had over the weekend. I was waking up with the room spinning - and NO it wasn't alcohol as I don't/can't drink with the medication I take. It must be a year since I last had a small glass of wine. Thank goodness the dizziness stopped yesterday. Apart from that I'm having a lazy day.
Glad Amy enjoyed her first day Karen.

Morning...
Very tired this morning, had a bad night with a certain puppy! I ended up getting up at 5.00 am in the hope Amy was sleeping through it. No idea what was wrong, she has got a bit of wind, but nothing new there!!
Marion... May for an appointment??? How many Drs are there in the practice? Our Practice have 3, one of them is very popular and always have a couple of weeks wait to get an appointment with him... he takes the time out to listen. One Dr, who has now left... had no time for anyone... he almost diagnosed problems even before you sat down to explain!
I have had a letter for one of them 'Health checks' ... havent made an appointment yet, will do it soon.
Its cold out, but at least the sun is shining.
Guess what Daisy Doodle is doing now.... sleeping I have tried to snooze, but the phone has rung twice, Keith is still in bed not feeling too good ... so think I am going to have an easy day, or at least try to!
Enjoy yours x

Re: Wednesday
Sue, I was going giddy now and again, saw a nurse and then a doctor to be told my BP was sky high, and the outcome of that was I am now on tablets, but at least its lowered the BP and I aren't going giddy now.
Karen, I think we have about 6 doctors at our surgery, and about the same in nurses, and like yours, one is very popular, he was the one that treated John and he is really nice.
We don't have any horrible ones thank goodness, but its getting to see them thats the trouble.
Where I live we have had a lot of people from Europe coming to live here, and so I think thats why the long wait with the doctors, too many people and not enough doctors.

Re: Wednesday
I have been on here about 4 times now and just as I am about to post something has happened - telephone once and twice the doorbell. Good afternoon to you all. Hope Daisy has behaved herself today for you Karen - poor Ruth a.d Ian were up all night again with Callie and thought she had kennel cough but when she was taken to the vet it was tonsillitus and is now on antibiotics now. The vet thinks it was because she was so ill the other week so her immune system is a bit down. Didn't know dogs could get it.
Can't believe you have to wait so long to see a doctor Marion that really is shocking. I know you have to wait to see consultants at the hospital but a GP
Hope your health check goes ok Sue. I have never been invited for one and at the moment feel as if I am falling to pieces. Karen we used to have a doctor that would be stood up near the door as if he was about to go out as you go in and he would ask what was wrong - go round his desk and write the prescription out. I only saw him if it was something minor but when I was pregnant and saw him he was more thorough than anyone else Another one would tell you what the person in front of you had been in for. Again he wasn't used much.

Re: Wednesday
Well health check consisted of answering questions and had BP taken. Some of the questions such as do you drink had a choice of answers - Lifetime teetotaller, drinker, ex drinker!! So saying you haven't had a drink for over a year makes you an ex drinker so you sound like a recovering alcoholic!!! Anyway result was BP high but her machine wasn't working properly - the sleeve kept coming undone so think the readings were a bit iffy. Cholesterol high and overweight. Interesting about the cholesterol though as I was told it was high a couple of years ago so I drank Benecol every day and a couple of months later it had dropped dramatically but they haven't kept a check on it and I stopped drinking Benecol. All I was told was get BP checked in a month and given a leaflet on lowering cholesterol. It wasn't quite high enough to refer me to GP. Bit of a waste of time but it has given me the motivation to try and lose some weight.(And cut out the crisps and chocolate - but not till I've finished my expensive Easter ones.
So advice was eat less and exercise more!

Re: Wednesday
Cant believe she did your BP with the machine not working properly, what is the point. My cholesterol was high a few years back and I started on Flora Proactive and it dropped, also walked more and cut out a lot of fat. I stopped using it too but now I'm not walking because of my knee, and I eat more cheese because I am not eating so much meat with my diverticular disease it has probably gone up again. I recently started taking the Flora Proactive again. Here's hoping !!! I should really have it checked again.
