Re: Thursday good morning
Sounds like your Dad swallowed a few of my happy pills Lou
Well have just been and signed on, with only working 12 hrs I still can to get my stamp paid so that's a bonus. I am so tired it is unbelieveably, how can working 12 hrs in any one week make you this tired, but I suppose add to that 6 hrs travellling and it soon starts to add up and the fact that I haven't worked in almost a year but feeling oh so much better now I have got this 1st week out of the way and feeling much more comfortable with what I am doing

I just think good on you Dad If someone had come to our shop and a sign was misleading, we always gave them the benefit and then put the sign right as it would be our fault that it was not clear It's just good customer relationship. I remember a man bringing back a diary and complaining that it didn't have St Patricks day in there and he wanted on with it in. We told him it wasn't one of our diaries and he insisted it was as he would never get it from anywhere else but we pointed out we didn't sell W.H.Smith diaries - did he blush He was a really nice elderly regular so we pulled his leg when he came in the next year to buy one
What a confusion with your bloods Lou, hope they will be ok next time

Re: Thursday good morning
Years ago I used to help with window-dressing, and one day we put the same item in two windows - with different price tickets. We heard customers talking about it, so quickly put it right, but the owner said that it didn't matter. He said that the price put on an item is legally classed as the 'opening offer', and the shopkeeper is not obliged to sell at that price!
I used to buy something every day from a local 'corner shop' opposite my first home, until one day I bought some bananas from a very large bunch, the shopkeeper used to leave them like that, and in trying to break off the amount I needed, two more fell off. It was an accident, and I hadn't wanted so many, but I felt obliged to buy them all, as the two loose ones were exposed at the top, and would go brown. The shopkeeper came round the counter and snapped off the top bit that remained on the bunch, and then weighed it with my bananas, saying I had to pay for that too! I did, but I never went to them again. They could really have done with a lesson in customer relations.

Re: Thursday good morning
I wonder if nowadays you could take the skins off the banana as excess packaging and not pay for it
Re: Thursday good morning
Late today! Decided to do some baking - very unusual for me! I'd seen a recipe for a St Clements cake which looked really nice for Easter. I've made the cake - eventually- thought I'd checked that I'd got all the ingredients then found I'd got no ground almonds. Fortunately Roy does more baking than me so he had some so had to get in car and go and get them when I was halfway through making it! I've now got the two cakes made and need to make the filling tomorrow but the "candied" fruits I've made are not very candied - they're still like slices of lemon and orange Might try putting them in oven again tomorrow but if they don't work it will just have the frosting. I just hope it tastes Ok otherwise it will be a very expensive disaster - 6 eggs and 2 packs of butter

Re: Thursday good morning
Sounds a bit too ambitious for me I wouldn't have a clue how to do candied fruit, I would have to just buy it Sounds yummy though Sue
Re: Thursday good morning
I don't know either Jacky but recipe had instructions - not that it's worked. beginning to think the cake is jinxed - just went to make the filling and guess what I'm short of icing sugar so will have to go to shops when I've had this coffee.
Re: Thursday good morning
That's the sort of thing that happens to me Sue, either I have run out, not enough, or usually out of date. I should bake more then I wouldnt have so many problems, but then I eat it and not good for my cholestrol
Re: Thursday good morning
Lou I went into one of the works once and they have the packs of cards well there was this offer on if you bought two packs they worked out cheaper i think it was two packs for £10 well i was looking through and found one with 2 packs for £8 i didnt change the sticker honest, so i took them to the counter and she said £10 pls i said no they are 2 for £8 when she looked she said you will have to let the lady have them for the £8, but i wasnt out of the shop when they all ran up to the back of the shop to see if there where anymore ha ha,
