Re: Wednesday morning
Good morning Andrea and all who follow Lovely sunny morning and feeling decidedly warmer than yesterday all ready
Seems all go this week but at least I got lucky with my Gold rider on the bus with starting Tuesday this week it means I get 4 days out of it plus having to sign on tomorrow means I have well made my money on it this week Cost £5.50 a day on the bus plus another £3 if I have to sign on so that's £25 in singles or £18 with the Gold rider so saving is quite good
Hope everyone is feeling well today
Better go and get ready for work I suppose ho humm oh well almost the weekend
Take care all and be good

Morning Jan and Andrea... and all who follow
Its a mixed bag of weather today - when I got up it was raining, then we had a beautiful rainbow with sunshine ... went up to school and it was drizzling - the sort that really soaks you! Now its sunny... looks like its going to be mixed up all day. Not too cold though.
Well back to work for me today... late as usual.
Tonight we are getting the 2 dogs that we look after, for a week - their 'human' parents are going away. Then next month they are getting another Ridgeback puppy - that means when they next come on doggy holiday... 3 lots of the proverbial to clean up - think we ought to open up a zoo!!
Have a lovely day, dont work too hard

Re: Wednesday morning
Not in the best of moods was an hour late for work today because the blooming bus driver drove straight past me and Nonington being in the back of beyond there is only 1 bus an hour Have written a very shirty letter to the bus company and told them I expect some form of recompence for the inconvenience, played the diabetes card as well, well just as well doesnt give me any other benefits
Apart from that have had a good day and work were very understanding, as long as I do my 4 hours then they dont mind

Re: Wednesday morning
All my washing dried beautifully, Martin only has the ironing to get done now before we go away at the weekend I was watching the encaustic art demo at the Crafty Cow last weekend so made me want to get my stuff out again, but like you Jen I have cards I must get done as we are away quite a bit this month - have to get up to date
That is just soooo annoying when bus drivers do that Jan - hope you get some joy out of your letter but if it's anything like the letter I got when i complained that the bus just didnt come on Sally's first day at college - they moreorless called her a liar and took the drivers word for it that he was on time Told her to get there earlier and she had arrived 20 mins before the bus was due, if she had been any earlier she would have caught the bus before

Not surprised you not in a good mood Jan, they are law unto themselves those drivers, saw one drive away on Saturday just as the lady ran up to the stop

The lace doily one is the one that I am now in prime position to get one on the next batch he he. If I had loads of money I think I would be buying one of almost all their edgers and some of the other punches too he he.
Thanks for the link Jacky, that place isn't too far from you is it? Might pop in on the off chance while we are down your way in the summer
Oh Jan you must be tamping mad ... I know I used to be when the buses just drove past without reason It's a good thing you bosses were so understanding as you can imagine its a classic "excuse" used for being late.
Hugs to all hope you have a lovely evening

Re: Wednesday morning
oh dear Andrea.. that is the trouble when you get them from the US... mine did as well - apart from saying what they usually say, punching through foil or a fine sandpaper - no other ideas. I had a problem with a fiskars one and they were really good, a bit different I know - hope you have some success with it. Not much help am I!!

Re: Wednesday morning
From what I keep seeing about Fiskars punches they keep falling apart, I have a few and they have been ok so far

They are not suitable for card, you are only supposed to use them on paper, but it is usually card I want to punch
Re: Wednesday morning
I have too Jane, but when I worked in the shop I noticed on the packaging it is only suitable for paper - think it was 90 gsm. I have used them on my 160 gsm card though, some of them are a bit tough
Re: Wednesday morning
I have several Fiskars border punches and I use them by pressing with the heel of my hand in a slight rocking motion (on bazzil or coredination card)
Re: Wednesday morning
Try the sandpaper / or cooking foil on your punch Andrea followed with the waxed paper out of your cereal packets. The foil and sandpaper sharpen it and the waxed paper provides a lining for smoother movement and removes the rough edges that the sanding created he he
If that doesn't work you could email Martha Stewart directly in the US and explain the situation to them, they may suggest that you return it and that they will pay the postage - you never know your luck
I've got a few Fiskars and have had no problem with them once I've done the foil / waxed paper routine. Apparently Fiskars recommend that it should be done on all new punches.
