Good morning everyone. It's freezing cold here, the ground is covered in frost. I'm off to Bradgate Park with Michaelas year this morning to look at how rivers/streams flow.
Have a good day everyone Smile

Good morning Frances and Juli and all who follow...... and good morning to Jane on the other FRED aswell!!!

I thought I'd answer on the freezing friday fred coz thats how it is here! LOL

Just read thru yesterdays posts as I didn't get on much after I made my first post, so have just updated myself of the Jayne situation... Jan if you pop in I bet it was hard staying away yesterday but certainly the bnest thing to do hun. Hope Jaynes temp sorts and settles today x

Sadie.... yes I did have gutter crutches straight after I slipped the disc but when I was admitted to my rehab ward (for MRI and physio) they wanted to get me back on the sticks as I was leaning too far forward on them and not putting enough pressure on my leg! I must say I wish I had them back at time coz there are days when I happily wouldn't put my foot to the floor! I am meant to use 2 sticks but just can't get the hand of everything swinging in opposite directions all at once added to the extra confusion of having to walk and look where you are going! So I gave up and just use one before there was a major accident LOL!!!

Frances..... hope Kayleigh is soon over it, maybe she needs a tonic or some multivitamins to spoeed her recovery hun x Good luck to Michaela with her SATS. Hope Joshua is OK too x Take care on the walk this morning wear yer gloves and hat!!!

Lexie... what fab news about Dulcie, you must be so proud! Way to go Dulcie xxx

Juli.... Hope Camerons birthday is fabulous, tell him happy birthday from me xxx

Have fun with your ATC's Jacky, haven't done any in yonks... must admit, I wouldn't have anywhere to store any now!

Hugs for anyone who needs one x

I am feeling alot better today, the hip has eased... went to bed early again last night with heat bottles and tens machine (and a nice Crunchie Twisted Evil ) and took 2 diazepam and managed a goodish nights sleep so feel much better for that today x

Have a lovely day all xxxxx

Temperatures are due to rise to 35 tomorrow and 39 Sunday in Adelaide - luckily its usually about 8-10 degrees cooler where we are going. Hope it warms up and dries up for you all. I'm not looking forward to coming home - I could get to like this life!

It's been a long day and the eyelids are drooping. Karen won't be home for at least another hour so we're off to bed very soon to read. All's quiet in the girls' rooms and haven't heard a peep ut of them all night. Being the first week back at school after the long summer break they were pretty exhausted too!

Good afternoon all. Lovely and sunny here at the moment. Glad you all think its cold 'cos I was really cold in bed last night and thought it must be me as it didn't seem cold when I came back from card club at 10.30 last night!. Got to tale Porsche to vets for her annual jabs later. Need to sneak carrier in when she's not looking lol!
Other than that a quiet day for me.

Our cat always used to run a mile, and still does with my daughter, when the travelling box was brought out. We don't have this problem with Jimmy as he uses his as a bed and loves it

I tended to do the same with them Lou and I think that is why I had so much bother with them
I am supposed to use a walker about the house, I am afraid my pride gets in the way of using it and Alan knows it is a really bad day if it is moved from its place in the corner
I get a right telling off when I get caught trying to go about with one stick
My excuse is that it just is so much easier carrying things with one arm free though and that's when I get the lecture about the walker Sad
Secretly though, I will admit it on here, I do have less pain when using it or the 2 sticks Embarassed
I am so sorry to hear of your pain. I find those micro-waveable hotties the best thing for relief. I used to get a lot of relief from a TENS machine when I previously had back problems but now it just causes more pain as I tend to have a lot of problems with electrical-like pulses going through my body and the TENS machine just adds to the confused messages that my poor body is getting. I am afraid it is as the Doctors say....Trial and error
OH! One thing that I did get that did help in the past is a cream made from chillies. You can only get it on prescription and you only use a tiny drop and VERY carefully wash your hands after applying.
The manufacturer name is AXSAIN Cream but it is commonly known as Capsaicin Cream.
Unfortunately, it did start to burn me no matter how little I put on, that devastated me as it was one thing that really did work. Pain Consultant reckons my body is on full over-drive in reacting to things and I tend to agree that is the case Sad
