Post  Karen R Sat Dec 26, 2009 11:02 am

Morning...

Hope everyone is having a lovely break.
Didnt have a very good night, Keith was in absolute agony with toothache - so I think an emergency visit to the dentist will be in order today. Hoping it wont be too far away.
Wont be doing much today, will tidy up the living room as there are bits all over, and guess what is for lunch??? Turkey!!!!
Take care xx

Boxing Day Empty Re: Boxing Day

Post  LoopyLou Sat Dec 26, 2009 1:01 pm

Good morning all you gorgeous peoples xxxx

Well just had a read and a few (not me) got on yesterday .... so sorry
that I didn't but was soooo busy and we didn't get home till after half
ten last night and I was ready to collapse!!!

We had a fantastic day with my mum and dad and my sister, best
christmas day for years! Such a laugh! Wow, my dad had some
Apricot Brandy and I have found out I can drink it neat!!! How fab!!!
Was feeling rather warm and cozy after a couple of triples (my dads
measure!)

The kids got everything they wanted and more this christmas, I must
admit we spoiled them a bit this year as they have have had a bit
of a tough year what with my fall and the time I spent in hospital...
and they never complain, being shoved from pillar to post etc....
we got them both a main pressie (georgia a guitar and Emily a digital
camera) and they had the usual assortment of books, jim jams,
smellies, choccy etc...... but then we got their MAIN presents out....
OMG the look on their faces,...... they have wanted nintendo ds's for
ages!!!!!!!! So we got them one each....... they have wanted one for
about 3 years or so...... and money has always been too tight.....
but this year we tightened our belts to make sure we got them .... I
bought them about 3 months ago!!!

We went round to mum and dads for about 10.30am and saw my niece
before she left as she was spending the day with her dad, she didn't
want to go so a bit of coaxing was needed! She wanted to stay with
her mum and her cousins. Still she had a nice (ish) time with her
dad but phoned her mum about 5 asking to come back! So they
went and got her and she spent the rest of the evening with us.

We came home about ten thirty... me on the Portaloo with Emily
snuggled into the footwell with a blanket over her and she
actually fell asleep!!! Bless her! The girls were very good to only
use the DS's for short periods at a time so as not to ignore anyone!
I had warned them before they took them round!!

Me and Ady spoilt each other a bit this year too..... I bought him loads
of stuff! We usully only spend a tenner or so on each other as we prefer
to spend our budget on the kids..... but he got me a lovely jumper,
some Touch of Pink perfume by Lacoste and the new Alexandra
Burke CD...... so was well happy. Mum and dad bought me a really
warm winter coat, she says I needed a better one... as my one is crap!

All in all the perfect Chrismtas x

We have MIL and BIL coming today for cold meat and baked spuds! Bit
of a boxing day tradition for us!! Also copious amounts of alcohol no
doubt!!!

Hope all the rest are nursing good hangovers and weighed down with lovely gifts x
If not you can all come to me for christmas next year and I'll make sure you have
hangovers next boxing day LOL!!!

Hope Keith gets to the dentist hun, must have been miserable for him to be in
such pain and for you too x Big hugs xxxx

Jan and Di, you sure you two aint twins LOL.... your christmases seem remarkabley
alike LOL!!!

Have a nice day relaxing Andrea!

Glad you had such a fab day Lou - you deserve it. Looks like the rest of you had a good time too. We enjoyed our usual quiet day - eating, drinking and watching TV. I was the only one who didn't crash out on the sofaBoxing Day 6 but slept in till 9 this morning.

the boys are watching cricket from Melbourne - the beef is in the oven Boxing Day 4and we had a nice breakfast of cereal with fresh fruit salad and yogurt followed by scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. There was a little bit of Champagne left so guess who's swigging the Buck's Fizz? Boxing Day 1 S*d the diet!

Hope Keith's tooth is sorted soon. Boxing Day 1 Have a good weekend all and hugs to all who need them.

Boxing Day Empty Re: Boxing Day

Post  Craftworker Sat Dec 26, 2009 4:16 pm

Good afternoon everyone, what a great day we had yesterday. Ian & Ruth popped round first then went off to Ruths parents to deliver presents as Sally & Greg arrived. Got the turkey in the oven and veggies prepared, then went to the pub for an hour to see Ruths family and met up again with Ian & Ruth. 1.00 we went home again to get the potatoes in the oven then the kids came back and got on with making the dinner and I had to stay out of the kitchen. Great meal, Sally had made a glazed ham joint and apparently she had boiled it first in Coke Shocked Shocked Nicest ham I have tasted and so tender. After dinner the 4 youngsters fell asleep while Martin and I cleared up the kitchen What a Face Didn't take too long but I think they had used every dish and pan in the kitchen Laughing Laughing About 7.00 Ruth went to pick up her parents and they joined us for the evening playing games - Brainiac and Pass the Bomb (not a good choice for poor Greg having to pass a bomb around) Dont know what time Ian, Ruth and her parents left but Sally & Greg stayed over (with the rabbits) and went to bed about midnight and we went about 1.00. Chilling today, but Ian & Ruth are coming later to make something with the left overs for our meal tonight. Got my Cricut cheers cheers plus design studio from Martin and a cartridge from Ian and Ruth. Sally gave me a gift voucher for the Dolls House Emporium so I was very very happy with my presents Very Happy I only had two alcoholic drinks all day so no hangover. Your house next year Lou Laughing Laughing

Glad you all had a good time and hope Keith gets his tooth sorted Karen Very Happy

Good Afternoon

Glad to hear that with exception of poor Keith's toothache, everyone seems to be having a good Xmas

We had a slow start as Andy had a night shift on Xmas eve, so was in bed for the morning. But I went off out
to visit a relative and we had a good old natter. Then home where my Mum and Dad came to us (we don't live far apart)
and have a super meal (if I say it myself) and then we had a look at a DVD with some nostalgic family photos that had been sent to us by a relative. Then we introduced my Dad to the Wii that was hilarious!
Then of course it was drinks throughout the evening and a late tea. We are having a quiet day today and then
tomorrow afternoon we will join my brother and his family at my Mums house.
The lead up to Christmas was so chaotic that it is just lovely to have some down time.

Enjoy the rest of your day

Just got back from the dentist. Keith managed to get an emergency dentist and he said that he has got an infection where he had the tooth out last week. Given Keith 2 lots of antibiotics and under no circumstances allowed to drink. Hopefully wont be long before the tablets take effect.
Keith thanks you all for your kind wishes xx

Lou.... those Bailey like drinks are just as good as Baileys arent they?? plus you can drink more - if you know what I mean!!!! My mum was given a bottle of something similar, and to be honest I reckon it was stronger than Baileys!!
